@NickJHiggins@PerfInjust Evil can and does cause suffering but they are different categories. Evil men inflict suffering on the righteous. Righteous men can stand up to evil men and incur suffering. Related but distinct.
@NickJHiggins@PerfInjust Is it considered suffering to labor in the fight against evil, or only if you allow evil happen while remaining pious? I could argue further it is not even “pious” to allow suffering to take place. Apathy not piety is typically the driving force.
It was a genuine pleasure to sit down with Bryan on the @1819News
podcast to discuss the importance of Christians gaining political ground in these times. Big thanks to them, and I'm looking forward to the next one!

You can change your life in a year. I decided to take on this challenge about a year ago, as I saw a court that has a long history in our state and believed that my perspective and experience could make it better. I also knew it wouldn’t be easy. I’ve been around campaigns and know that you have to be totally committed to run.
I established some basic rules for myself:
1). No complaining, no excuses. If you see something you don’t like, respond to it as best as possible and move on.
2). Do the things you don’t necessarily want to do. And do them well.
3). Fight for yourself. If you don’t fight for yourself, how can voters expect you to fight for them?
4). Respect clubs, Republican leaders, and activists who do so much work to hold events and meetings. Show up. Acknowledge their work.
5). Listen to what is on the minds of people who you’re with; what I wanted to talk about is not always what others want to talk about. “You don’t talk about coyotes if people want to talk about bobcats.”
6). Listen to others who are trying to help you; sometimes they’re right, sometimes not, but always listen. With that said, run your race, not theirs.
7). Fight past every thorn and never stop working. Find energy.
I left it all on the field and I am honored, truly humbled that the voters have given me the opportunity to be your Republican nominee for this place on this great court.
To my 3 opponents, you have my great respect and I admire you all for running, enduring, and aspiring to serve. You are all tremendous people and talented lawyers, each of you is capable of serving on the bench. In particular, I want to express my high respect to Alison Fox, who is an exceptional competitor and a skilled attorney. Although we may have differences on some things, one thing we share in common (and I suspect there’s more than just one thing) is Alison’s commitment to protecting the unborn and her work in the pro life arena, for which she deserves a tremendous amount of praise.
I hope, and expect, that we can all come together and stand united in the task that all of our nominees face in November. If we do, we will be unstoppable. If you voted for me, thank you. If not, I’m here to listen and earn your support.
The best moment of all last night was receiving these two beautiful cards from Audrey and Katherine. Audrey was very sweet to also type the message as her handwriting post stroke doesn’t always cooperate.
My life has indeed changed in the last year, primarily due to meeting so many people across the state who work day and night to keep the Texas we have strong. Thank you all for your belief, support, and prayers. Let’s go win in November. 🇺🇸
