This sign was recently spotted in front of a public park in Aleppo. Its message attempts to reassure local residents that they are safe, but makes it clear that in cases of conflict or other legal matters, decisions will be guided by Sharia law.

The area highlighted is the "Valley of the Christians", home to about 200,000 Christians, mostly Greek Orthodox and Greek Catholics, but also hosting refugees from other areas in Syria, namely Syriac Orthodox as well. It even has a Protestant minority.

It's very close to the border of Lebanon, and has historically been known for fierce resistance to terrorists in 2012-2014.

The neighbors of these Christians who lived in peace for centuries suddenly turned on them alongside foreign terrorists from Lebanon and elsewhere, holed up in the crusader castle
Krak des Chevaliers.

As a result, they were expelled by local self defense militias, who would run patrols for 10 years since then, however they recently returned after the fall of the Assad regime. They have issued orders to the Christians to disarm.

Christians worldwide, especially in neighboring Lebanon, where the Revolution is celebrated should keep their eyes focused on the Valley and be ready to act against any threat of ethnic cleansing.

UPDATE: According to a local journalist, based on information from relatives, the man was beheaded and the woman was shot dead in #Syria.

The victims were reportedly targeted and robbed because they were both wealthy and Christian.

Relatives, fearing retaliation, were unwilling to release this information under their own names.

The nature of the crime points unmistakably to the actions of a specific group.
