There’s still time to join The Drive on a SynergenX Football Friday, supported by @TomballFordTX and @Academy. Live @talyardbrewing until 6p tonight! Come see us!
Man I hope everyone finds the Burkholder presser and listens.. because he definitely didn't say SIMMONS decided he would go on IR... he said everyone decided it was the best move
@EdwardRadulescu Why, do they need to come out and give a detailed breakdown of Rice's injury and what he's doing everyday based off his past... NO... We've known from the jump he had a back injury, just like we know Rice has a hamstring or Connor had a knee
I guess Rick came up here and lied too… and to those initial reports that said Josh decided, he clearly said… everyone decided IR was the move… but I’m sure someone has a source that says this is about more than a back injury
The #Chiefs, when they have a health situation that requires more context, send out head trainer Rick Burkholder to explain it to the media.
He did that today with LT Josh Simmons.
Here’s his full explanation:
@imperialstanda Then why would they say he worked diligently with the staff everyday... and Andy/Pat come to the media and back him, if they "want him to play and he doesn't to"
@EdwardRadulescu There's no one to blame champ... he's injured, you've known his injury and they've been as transparent about an injury the same way they are about all their players injuries... what more info do you think should be given???
@Shotty442122@MitchSchwartz71 As I've said on here & our pod...I understand why people are skeptical because of what happen with Josh last year...but the Chiefs have given as much info as teams give on injuries...there is nothing that's been said by the Chiefs or reported that says it's more than an injury
@Shotty442122@MitchSchwartz71 Mitchell is giving his opinion... now nothing of what he said has been reported or said by the Chiefs... The whole thing with people like you is you're so sure it's not about an injury... when there is nothing that proves that... you just want it to be the case
I deleted an earlier post about Josh Simmons for clarity. After relistening to the press conference (I was live-tweeting before), the bolded part needs clearer wording. Burkholder said all parties (the team's medical staff, Josh, his agent, Andy Reid and Brett Veach) agreed on his IR stint. Here's the corrected version:
Chiefs head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder says the team feels LT Josh Simmons has plateaued in his recovery from his back injury. Simmons consulted with his family yesterday to figure out next steps, which is why he missed practice for personal reasons. Burkholder said all parties agreed that Josh should go on injured reserve.
