It’s an unwritten tradition to this day, for one of the wrestlers in the match to buy a round of beers for the Main Event in Mexico.
I almost never drink them anymore, but I still buy the round from time to time,
Kind of a cool tradition
What about WrestleStars Tom?
When I wrestled you in 2012, its peak was already behind us, but Rampage Brown and Mikey Whiplash told me about how busy and how big the crowds were.
How often did they run? Any footage from those shows?
There are a few channels online who have some gems

But indeed, Flesh Gordon got Wrestling on European TV (Eurosport) in the mid 90ies, which was huge and got talents from all over the world working here in France.
I don’t really know but @TomLaRuffa would know better than anyone.
The promoters daughter was his partner for years so he was very highly involved.
From what I understand they were doing great business for quite some time.
I wrestled Danny Collin at least a Dozen times.
His reputation preceded him, but I loved every match we had!
Every match was 100% “on the fly” aside from the finish,
He always joked that I was 20 years too late because we would have made a lot of money!
Helluva compliment 🙏
I met @SirCharles_WWE his first year in wrestling during my final Summer run for Brian Dixon.
His evolution has been INCREDIBLE!
He did card deck calisthenics every day but was much smaller and more timid.
He’s developed into something truly special!
I worked for Flesh Gordon’s company WrestleStars in 2012
Fans don’t realize how strong the French scene was throughout the 90s-00s
10-15 shows monthly with thousands In attendance.
Like Allstar, they prioritized ticket sales over filming shows or internet buzz
That’s really the paradox of “internet companies”
Bigger shows you have to work harder and do more to impress the fans and get booked again.
I couldn’t imagine a full schedule of PWG style matches.
It would hurt and not be fun 😂
@RealSamAdonis The wear and tear is real. Also after suffering injuries myself, I learned to work smarter and save big moves for when they mattered. Just being aware of the condition of the ring, loose ropes, if the padding shifted etc, kept me on my toes to avoid future accidents.
From personal experience I agree 100%
When I had 6-10 matches a week in England, I felt great but was hungry 24/7
4-6 a week in CMLL was the best I ever felt,
8-10 matches a month was when things started to hurt a bit
Now 4-8 matches a month, everything hurts. Always
I genuinely think if the wrestlers worked a more consistent schedule with multiple house shows a week, their bodies would get adjusted to it and you’d get less injuries than the way they do it now where main event level guys legitimately wrestle 1-2 times a month where they go full speed, all out and then dial it right back down to zero.
There’s a reason CM Punk got better and healthier when he got rolling and in a rhythm working more regularly. Personally, most of my injuries as an athlete came with infrequency. Routine matters and it’s important.
I really hope Bron is okay, he’s my favorite of the young guys.
I was his opponent in Vampiro’s final 3 matches in 3 border towns spot shows.
Every night, the crowd was deafening and his post match speeches had the fans in tears!
Ive never experienced emotion quite like what he brought to Mexico
@RealSamAdonis@dorianroldan@vampiro_vampiro Appreciate the insight. I hope it isn't getting lost how insanely popular Vampiro was and the connection with the audience in Mexico.
This was a blast and was awesome to be a part of!
The idea was the vision of @dorianroldan who knew it was gonna receive mixed reactions
He definitely rolled the dice, but in my opinion it delivered as far as spectacle and chaos!
I always love wrestling @vampiro_vampiro
@RealSamAdonis What was it like being part of this? I thought it was really creative given Vampiro's limitations. The people were going crazy for the reveals. https://t.co/qhdC7fIOaw
Octagon Jr is one of my oldest friends in Lucha.
We trained together every Monday in Arena Mexico under Shocker and will forever have chemistry and a trauma bond from the intensity of those classes!
Wishing him speedy recovery so he can come back to shine soon!! 🥺🙏
Super happy for Kaiser’s success because he’s a friend but this Americano stuff STINGS!
I asked Dorian and Konnan for years to try me as a babyface because the fans have treated me as such.
They both said no due to a “lack of good Rudos”
This job is full of ups & downs 😫
If you need any other reason to believe Terry Funk is greatest of all time, x’s AI content filter flags virtually *every single* post with him in it for real violence. Not only did he make the real people believe, he also makes artificial intelligence take notice. 💻☠️
As much as westerners wanna believe Japan is all about good matches, Drama and National pride has always been the essence of Puroresu
The lack of Gaijin monsters has created a shortage of Domestic Babyfaces & Prioritizing workrate over threats has adversely affected everything
It was noted by a former NJPW official just how badly the value of NJPW dropped with the retirement of Hiroshi Tanahashi:
“Tanahashi retiring removes the single biggest emotional and commercial draw. He was the spine of the boom years, the face of the international expansion and the reason causal Japanese fans came back to the product in the first place.
Post-Tanahashi, the question every serious buyer would ask is, who does those numbers and who carries the global narrative? Right now there is no obvious answer to that. The roster has talent but no one with Tanahashi’s crossover appeal domestically or internationally. That really probably weighed on what serious buyers were willing to pay, and it may be why Bushiroad moved forward toward TV-Asahi and CyberAgent, who bring distribution and platform value rather than betting on a specific talent-derive upswing.”

I remember being legitimately terrified that he was gonna win presidency and make us go to school on Saturdays!
His 90s run was definitely a body of work I didn’t appreciate until later in life
