💔 *HEARTBREAKING N1 SPIKING TRAGEDY — ONE LIFE LOST*

A devastating vehicle spiking incident claimed a life on Sunday night, 18 October 2026, leaving a family facing unimaginable grief.

At approximately 22h34, a vehicle travelling on the N1 North between Hammanskraal and Carousel Plaza was caught in a suspected spiking trap.

*_The consequences were catastrophic._*

One person lost their life, while two others sustained serious injuries.

The fast and middle lanes were closed as emergency services worked at the scene. SAPS and Bakwena Road Patrol were on scene, with an ambulance and Tshwane emergency services.

Behind every crash is a family.
Behind every statistic is a person who was loved.
Tonight, somewhere, a family is mourning the loss of someone who should have made it home. 💔

Vehicle spiking is not just a road hazard — it destroys lives.

Please remain vigilant, especially at night. If you encounter objects or suspicious activity on the roadway, slow down where safe, avoid sudden manoeuvres and report it immediately.

Our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased. We wish the injured a full and speedy recovery.
