@SonofOmahu@kidsbooksin140@CitizenBomber Fair, but then we should work to repeal that law not celebrate our opponents being punished by it. They will do the same. I don't think Bomber should be found guilty of speech crimes. I don't think anyone should. These are the tools of totalitarian governments.
@kidsbooksin140@SonofOmahu@CitizenBomber That threshold should be libel/slander or imminent threat of harm. Hurt feelings shouldn't allow someone to use the power of the state to suppress another person's speech. That way lies what you see in the UK, Scotland and other communist countries.
@rosey_nz@NZFreeSpeech Free Speech is about what power the government should have to curtail your speech or expression. We can't allow the government to restrict speech for hurt feelings. The price we pay for freedom is that people we don't like can say things we don't like. Freedom isn't free.
@TheConsultant18@NZNationalParty@chrisluxonmp Or just don't vote for National. If it is a party that expels someone like Penk to save the internal plotters is a party worth voting for? You're likely to end up with one of them eventually.

Welfare benefits automatically increase with inflation. Tax brackets should too.
Our latest polling shows 65% of Kiwis support indexing income tax thresholds to inflation, including 74% of National voters.
It’s a simple and fair way to stop bracket creep quietly eating away at Kiwi pay packets.
If your pay rises only to keep up with inflation, you’re not getting richer. The Government shouldn’t get to take a bigger slice of it.
Stop the stealth tax. Index the brackets.
@TheConsultant18@ChrisPenknz@ChrisPenknz Saddened to see you go! I got to know about you from watching The Working Group podcast. You always seemed so reasonable and switched on. I still think you will be PM one day.
