IBA has invited all bank unions for a meeting on 14 Jan 2026 after UFBU’s strike notice for 27 Jan.

Let’s be honest:
Most of us already know how this usually goes.

What will come out of tomorrow’s meeting?

1️⃣ 5 day banking actually delivered and strike deferred
2️⃣ No 5 day banking, but strike deferred after some “assurances”, “positive discussion” & lollipops
3️⃣ No 5-day banking and unions finally stand firm and go on strike

My fear? Option 2️⃣ again with some below excuses like:

- Finance Ministry will announce it in the Budget.
- FM has spoken to top management”,
“Wait a little more” … and the strike gets deferred.
