@cottonmouth_ms He’s 100% right. We’ve become a self-centred, ego driven, selfish society. Most of it was born out of the feminist movement, which began in universities in the 60’s. Much like the woke movement, it became a disease that resulted in societal degradation.
@DonMorethan4@JhWesten@grok Oh I’m Catholic and always will be. On that rock, Saint Peter built his church. 2026 years of direct succession to the apostle Peter. No one will ever take that away from me. It’s bigger than one lifetime and certainly bigger than one person. That’s just me though.
@biztimes10@brianlilley We do want Canada to succeed. What we don’t want is weak people in charge, trying to look tough just to please their base. It serves no purpose other than keeping you engaged. We need them more than they need us, that’s the truth.
@biztimes10@brianlilley Tell that to the thousands losing their jobs. 2 million jobs on the line dude. People can’t afford to eat. We’re a country with a tiny economy with a big economy syndrome. The sooner we realize what we are, the better we’ll be.
@biztimes10@brianlilley I don’t want America first. I want us to put Canada first for a change. Like actually put Canada first. Part of that is mending our relationship with the US, to make sure we secure a prosperous Canada for our kids.
@biztimes10@brianlilley We are extremely lucky to be neighbours with the world’s most powerful economy. Our politicians know this, but they are playing you, to consolidate power around a perceived “common enemy”. Oldest trick in the book.
@biztimes10@brianlilley After WWII, America formed the western alliance and made it its mission to bring prosperity to Europe. We were welcomed into the group by virtue of our geography. America has been incredibly good to us. They’re the reason why we are considered a wealthy country.
@biztimes10@brianlilley The US has imposed tariffs in many countries for years, way before Trump was even on your mind. Canada has had tariffs on the US forever. Do deal or comprehensive trade with the US means a very different Canada than what you are used to seeing. It means economic collapse.
@biztimes10@brianlilley You’ve been sold a malignant lie. Tariffs aren’t illegal. They simply used one of the many tools they have and their justification to use that tool wasn’t enough. Kind of like the courts have done here when it comes the invocation of the Emergencies Act.
@biztimes10@brianlilley Liberals go around screaming Canada first while simultaneously lamenting the fact that Trump is doing the same. Heck, Liberals called him an isolationist. Fact that he’s isolating America literally means he’s putting it first.
@biztimes10@brianlilley We are Canada first, but in being Canada first, you can’t in good faith be mad at Trump for putting America first. That’s his job. What we need is rationality from Canadians. Strong people don’t fall apart when they feel insulted. That’s what weak people do.
