🚨 STOP OVERCOMPLICATING RECRUITING 🚨
One of the biggest mistakes athletes make is chasing logos instead of chasing fit.
The recruiting process becomes much simpler when you ask yourself one question:
"Where am I good enough to play and have an impact?"
Too many athletes spend their time focusing on schools that may not match their current ability level while overlooking programs that could be a great fit academically, athletically, and personally.
The goal isn't to get recruited by the biggest name.
The goal is to find the place where you can: ✔ Get on the field ✔ Continue developing ✔ Earn a quality education ✔ Enjoy your college experience ✔ Make an impact on a program
There are amazing opportunities at every level of college softball.
Division I. Division II. Division III. NAIA. JUCO.
The athletes who find success in recruiting are often the ones who honestly evaluate where they fit and aggressively pursue those opportunities.
Don't overcomplicate the process.
Know your value. Know your level.
Build relationships with programs that fit.
The right fit will always be more important than the biggest logo.
Proud to share that Raegen Germano completed her 4 year degree at @myrwu with her BS in Psych. Also capped her 🥎 career with 40O+ K’s, 1st Team All CNE and 3rd team All-Region. Way to go 22. Love you!
Raegen is a sr at @RWUSOFTBALL & lost a 1-0 heartbreaker in the conference finals yesterday. Pitched her heart out & left it all out there. Grateful to be at her first pitch and her last. Couldn’t pick a better coach, program, team & parents for her to finish with.
Hitters
Fight your ass off with 2 strikes.
Spread out, choke up, take the plate away and refuse to strikeout.
It's you vs the man on the mound.
Don't let him beat you.
It's personal.
It's a competition.
Remember.
The only time it's acceptable to strikeout looking is with a full count on an expanded strike call.
Shrink the zone and don't expand in full counts.
Expand the zone with 2 strikes until the count goes full.
Then shrink the zone.
Congratulations to our Raegen Germano as she capped her last regular season game with a gem, getting 14Ks and achieving 400 Career K’s. NO Mystery Raeg! This is a milestone that celebrates all the work and steps through the journey from the time you were 8 years old. Love you!
Viper Alum Raegen Germano had an amazing weekend for @RWUSOFTBALL 2 Wins, including her final career home game over Nichols. Overall, W:2 IP:14 R:1 H:6 K:15. Amazing effort. Great team tailgate following Sundays games. Keep it rolling this week!
We are growing! Bergen County’s longest running program. Amazing support and culture. Track record second to none in our market. DM or email us at [email protected] to have a conversation.
@3leftsbaseball Watching warmups and the hitters in front of you should greatly assist in this approach. Not even touching scouting reports or familiarity, which also come into play.
Simple Hitting.
Five things for hitters.
1. Create Torque and Leverage. Get in legs, full turn, hit against the front side, hips beat hands.
2. Get on Plane. Match the plane of the pitch.
3. Create Rhythm. Load. Be on time.
4. Get head in good position to hit.
5. Preset an approach and compete your ass off. Refuse to strikeout.
Be great at those five.
