Gujarat Kesar reaching the US and UK — great logistics story. But APEDA certification covers the pack house, not the orchard. Systemic pesticides like chlorpyrifos don’t wash off — they’re in the tissue. (Every growmore store sells these to farmers to spray on Mangoes)

Chlorpyrifos is banned in the US. Banned in the EU. Still legal to sell in India.

Genuinely. But I’ve been watching this from the US for 34 years and I’ll say what no one in your office will:

The farmer doing natural farming in AP today is getting cheated. Every single day.

He grows clean. His neighbor sprays. Both get ₹20/kg at the mandi. Same crate. Same middleman. Middleman sells at ₹80. Farmer goes home and wonders why he bothered.

1.8 million enrolled. Zero verified. Zero labeled. Zero premium.

Araku proved it’s possible — cut the middleman, build a direct market, farmer earns. Why doesn’t every APCNF farmer have that?

Enough spending on educating farmers on how to grow naturally. We must now educate the consumer on how to respect and reward a farmer who grows naturally.

The middleman is the only one winning here.

But with great recognition comes great responsibility. Japan already banned Indian mangoes. US rejected 15 consignments. EU watching closely.

Global recognition means nothing without global standards. Right now every Banganapalli mango travels 500-700km to Mumbai or Bangalore just to reach a certification facility. Every kilometer is quality lost. Every rejection is a farmer’s livelihood destroyed.

No integrated irradiation or pesticide testing facility exists in Telangana or AP. No mandatory residue testing per batch. No QR code on export boxes. No Food Czar.

Just speeches and celebrations while our farmers bear the consequences.
