@laz_versalles Troy Merritt is a first class person. His uncle Jeff was my best friend in high school. The entire Merritt family are great athletes. Laz and Troy were great together. Troy didn’t say much, Laz did.!

@laz_versalles Caddy programs are the backbone of golf. Sad to say many clubs are not requiring when caddies are available. Thus new members don’t have a clue about etiquette which made golf a great game. And yes those members say they waited on every shot.

In golf the slow topic is ongoing. My opinion, a group expecting to play in 3 1/2 hours on a busy day is just as bad as a group taking 5 plus hours. The time a round of golf is a moving target. The proper term “pace of play.” Your thoughts?

Our group will be in carts so we’ll play faster than the group that walks???? In my experience golfers DO NOT know how to play in carts, they drive in circles and park in front of greens which slows play. More on carts in a later tweet.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard, “I waited on ever shot,” I’d be a rich man. Questions, what did you shoot and how long did you wait on all those shots? Do the math. More on the golf slow play dilemma tomorrow.

Has anyone ever heard someone admitting they were a slow player (in golf)? In my 40+ years in golf I haven’t. It’s always the other guy. I’d like to hear your thoughts.

Sid Hartman was the best and a legend. I was a lucky person to know him. When at Oak Ridge for lunch he always took the time to stop by the golf shop and say hi.
