Two @fifaworldcup cycles with the so-called #USMNT “Golden Generation”…. Two UGLY Round of 16 exits.
IMO… the start of this next 4-year cycle should be all about identifying new talent and trying to develop new stars.
Case in point, the new, LONGER September window is next for the USMNT. It could feature up to 4 friendlies. This is the perfect opportunity to bring in new faces.
Pictured is the CONCEPT of what I would do. I don’t claim to be an expert in all of these prospects. So feel free to chime in with thoughts. But the point is… I wouldn’t bring ANY of our World Cup 26. Time to start identifying and testing new talent to hopefully push and infuse into our current squad down the road.
It really was a missed opportunity at this World Cup. We were a seeded team. In pot A, and were given a relatively easy path into the knockout rounds along with Mexico and Canada. That’s usually the standard with host nations. Who knows how it plays out in 2038, if we’ll get it again, but in 2030/34, we’ll be a pot B team again, and the degree of difficulty within the group stage could be a hurdle for us making a deep run. #USMNT
🇺🇸 BREAKING: Steve Cherundolo has been named United States men's U-23 coach.
Cherundolo will lead the team at the 2028 Olympics.
Cherundolo left LAFC after 2025, saying he and his family wanted to return to Germany.

Christian Pulisic suffered a bone bruise and microfracture of his tibia/fibula in USMNT's loss to Belgium, sidelined for several weeks, per sources.

How do I feel about people who blame youth club/travel sports for why the U.S. isn't better at soccer? Listen here, because they're all wrong and lazy:
With the 🇺🇸 and 🇧🇷 out of the World Cup, TACTICAL MANAGER WILL GO ON A LOAN!!
Tactical Manager to Morocco 🇲🇦 HERE WE GO ✅
Tactical Manager signs a 3 game loan with 🇲🇦 in order to support them and help them win the 2026 World Cup!
Vamos Morocco!!!!
To compare Pulisic’s World Cup to Donovan’s 06 cup is so apples to oranges.
1. Pulisic was much more involved and simply played better except for the Belgium game.
2. Donovan was horrible for two of the three games in 2006, with the game against Italy being a good one.
@ReasonableUSMNT It’s your issue if you perceive it that way.
I am focused on covering American prospects.
It is notable whether a top prospect wants to play for the US program. I said nothing about the USMNT.
Papo Gordon (‘11) has committed to the US program.
This is a big deal. A top talent in the 2011 age group who was very much not a lock to play for the USA down the road.
@JordanB170 In no order;
>Pro/rel
>kick 10 teams out of the league. A league of 30 teams waters down the talent level too much.
>No more salary cap
>league can't collectively own all the franchises anymore
>no more homegrown rules
#USMNT risers and fallers this World Cup:
