Tomorrow morning at 11 our landlords, Livewell Property Management will be using a company called Canadian Tenant Inspections to enter our homes for an "inspection". Are CTI general contractors? Engineers? No, they are ex-police who specialize in detecting criminal activity.
We're here at 94-96 East Ave S: where tenants are resisting the presence of ex RCMP law enforcement sent in for a "building inspection." Let's talk for a minute about the Landlord Credit Bureau. 1/

Another obvious preventative measure missing from the plan: BRING THE VACCINE TO THE PEOPLE! Door-to-door vaccination, mobile bus clinics, pop-up clinics on the front lawn, etc. should be done in every apartment building as a preventative measure.

Finally! Hamilton public health managers and politicians wake up to what we have been saying all along. But as our neighbours Arefin and Richard say, this is too little, too late. https://t.co/3Qn06H3pmD
Glaring omission from public health managers' High-Rise Infection Prevention Plan is a plan to isolate cases & stop the spread when rising case counts first identified in a bldg. Need rapid door-to-door testing & isolation hotels for tenants who test +ve

Tenants "held a press conference in front of the 17-storey building Monday, after which they served building staff w/ more than 45 work orders for repairs for multiple issues, including plumbing, electrical, ventilation, and fire control." @lisa_polewski

This morning we held a small rally in front of the #RebeccaTowers to demand that @MedallionCorp address the massive backlog of repair requests in our building. Several tenants who weren't able to attend showed their support by hanging banners off their balconies.
We dropped off nearly 50 work order requests, and after some initial hesitation, Medallion staff accepted them. We emailed copies of the work orders to a number of @MedallionCorp executives and senior property managers to make sure they don't get 'lost'.
Today at 11AM, rally at our building, 235 Rebecca St.
We are demanding landlord @MedallionCorp fix repairs in our units and cancel a proposed Above Guideline Increase in rent.
