PYP educator at Canadian International School of Hong Kong (cdnis), IBEN workshop leader and school visitor, CIS school visitor and most importantly Mom.
An incredible 3 days of leading and learning at the Global Jaya school in Jakarta. I facilitated the ‘Making the PYP Happen in the Early Years’ and was surrounded by passionate educators. #IBAPAC#professionaldevelopment#IBEN#IB
Before any #UOI#summativeassessment I like to set my students up for #sucess. This time I asked them to place photos, learning engagements and books from the unit on a time line to review the learning that occurred. #pyp@ibpyp#cdnisls
Presented yesterday to the CDNIS staff on the benefits of being part of the IB educators network. Encouraged others to apply as it has been one of the best professional experiences of my career. Thank you @makkyfung for organizing another successful #weshare#ib#lifelonglearner
‘Someone with a growth mindset is quick to celebrate the success of others. They recognize that behind that momentary success was a backstory of growth.’
Fantastic quote from a current book I’m reading. Thanks for the recommendation @SuzanneMcClusk1#growthmindset#journey
I am proud to be part of a group of cross country coaches at #cdnishk who have been sponsored to take part in the #runhk virtual corporate challenge. #community#hongkong
@antesdelfinBCN@UnitedSTokyo I would highly recommend reaching out to @natrosshk. She is our math coach at #cdnis and is invaluable with her wealth of knowledge and resources to engage all levels of students.
@MatulaChristina ‘Zoom’ by Robert Munsch was specifically written for a young girl in Orillia, Ontario who requested a book written about her and her journey in a wheelchair. May not connect exactly to your need, but your friend’s daughter may have her own story to share that may influence others
Inspired by a conversation I overheard in the staff room on 'static shocks', I brought the issue to the Y5 classes at @ThinkSchoolHK for them to solve. I have now received four emails with reasons & solutions, and the students are calling themselves 'energy detectives'! #science
I covered a Y5 class today and was able to implement a strategy from ‘Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics’. A fantastic open ended question allowing for different approaches from the students! @pgliljedahl#math#inquiryapproach @ThinkSchoolHK
