Let me spell out what a "stay" vote really means.
It won't be read as "Albertans are happy." It'll be read as permission. Permission to keep doing everything they've been doing — only worse, because the one province with the spine to push back just folded.
Here's the playbook. You've watched it run for years:
**They take your money.** Equalization, carbon taxes, pipelines strangled to death. Alberta pays, Ottawa spends, and somehow there's never enough. When the state decides what your labour is worth, that's not capitalism anymore.
**They take your voice.** The media buries a province voting on its own future while amplifying whatever serves power. When the press becomes the government's PR department, you're not in a free country.
**They take your choices.** MAID went from "last resort" to the state offering death to veterans and disabled people whose real problem is they can't afford to live. A government that decides who lives and who dies has decided it owns you.
**They take your vote.** You think October 19 will be clean? I've watched this machine for years.
Every communist regime walked this same road. Not with tanks on day one — with "trust us, it's for your own good." One surrendered freedom at a time. Mao promised a workers' paradise and ended up devouring the very people who helped him build it.
A "stay" vote doesn't save Canada. It signs the permission slip for all of it to accelerate. The machine will read it as: the resistance is over.
Six days. Vote like the country your grandkids inherit depends on it. Because it does.
Carney walked out of U.S. trade talks at one minute to midnight and called it a war.
It isn’t about tariffs. It’s a midterm operation, and Scott Bessent is fighting the war Carney doesn’t want you to notice.
🚨 HOLY SMOKES. JD Vance is holding nothing back, saying Canada is purposefully serving as a "BACKDOOR for CHINESE GOODS"
"To the PM of Canada: STOP TAKING ADVANTAGE OF AMERICA. IT'S OVER. WE EXPECT FAIRNESS!"
"We know Canada allows itself to be used as a BACKDOOR for Chinese goods. They treat Chinese goods more fairly than they do the goods from [America]!"
"They came in with last-minute unreasonable demands!"
"It's INSANITY."
"We've said, stop it."
“I’ve never understood how separating from Canada would make Alberta more independent.”
Really, Stephen? That is quite literally what independence means.
Decisions now made in Ottawa over taxation, trade, immigration, borders and national economic policy would instead be made by Albertans, for Alberta.
And apparently Alberta oil and gas are powerful leverage when Canadian premiers want to use them against Washington, but somehow become a liability when Alberta controls them itself. That’s a difficult argument to take seriously.
But this is bigger than us. We’re deciding what kind of Alberta our children and grandchildren inherit.
People warn about the uncertainty of building a new country. Fair enough.
But there is also enormous risk in staying on a path when we can already see where it leads.
I’m far more concerned about the certainty of Canada’s trajectory than I am about the uncertainty of Albertans building something better.
Dear Carney elbow people.
When you think of exchanging USA for China as our biggest trade partner, what do you admire most?
1. China harvesting organs from political prisoners?
2. China enabling slave labour to make stuff cheap as borscht?
3. China intimidating our own citizens and politicians?
Just wondering what your motivation is?
Alberta has spent too much of its history watching other jurisdictions take our raw resources and build higher-value industries around them.
This time we can supply both the energy and the next stage of the value chain. The risks are real but manageable.
Allowing exaggerated environmental fears, anti-corporate ideology and fantasies about giant surveillance warehouses to drive away tens of billions of dollars would be an extraordinary act of economic self-sabotage.
Blows my mind that 100% of Alberta is not yet on board with independence. Y'all are literally the only folks with an option to escape Canada (A MASSIVE WIN)
...but also become filthy rich for doing so?
It's a no brainer.
Do not squander this opportunity Alberta, just #WEXIT
Trump paused the Canada tariffs.
The media sees a trade story.
We see the real one: transshipment smuggling, snow-washing, and a "geo-industrialization" strategy run by the Empire's favorite central banker. Canada isn't a partner. It's an outpost.
This articulate young lady has considered the future of Alberta remaining in Canada, and she is voting to leave.
I encourage you to listen to what she has to say.
🇨🇦 this will be an everyday occurrence once Bill C9 passes. The jails will be full of honest hard working 🇨🇦ians while Carney’s criminals run free because he brought them here and they vote for him.
