@KalshiHoops@BrettSiegelNBA Should they add Ben Simmons lowk?? they do need a secondary point guard / ball handler and he fits their mold of an athletic and defensive minded player
New championship method dropped:
Step 1: get traded for an absolute haul
Step 2: play on your new team for 1-2 years
Step 3: reject the contract extension your new team offers
Step 4: return to your former team which now has a revamped roster and assets(thanks to ur trade) and win a ring
This new Lakers deal was partially motivated by Bob and Kushners’ appeal to investments that can’t fundamentally be replaced by technology, sports and athletic competition are emblematic of that. MJ sold the Hornets for 10x what he got the franchise for, the Warriors have 30xed in value since Lacob acquiring them (reflective of the sheer value Steph brings to the table), and Marc Cuban nearly 20xed in his recent sale of majority ownership of the Mavericks. It is a little sad to see these organizations fall into the hands of corporate giants and PE firms with deep pockets, but is symbolic of a broader economic trend towards tech resistant human entertainment.
A deep dive on Chris Paul’s entire career and why the “no ring” conversation misses so much of what made him great.
