Former Brooklyn Center Police Officer Kim Potter was sentenced to 2 years for fatally shooting Daunte Wright. Potter is required to serve two-thirds of that time (or 16 months). The prosecution asked for seven years. We will live stream the protest today at 4. Follow for updates.

BCA has left and MPD has taken down the crime scene tape of a fatal officer involved shooting in downtown Minneapolis. Police are still present on the 7th floor of the building where the shooting happened. Property mngmt has removed the handles of the apartment entrance.
At least 3 apartments were raided. 2 on the 14th floor and 1 on the 7th where a Minneapolis Police officer fatally shot a man while executing a search warrant for SPPD. According to interim police chief Amelia Huffman the shooting happened within 9 sec she says the man had a gun
The federal trial begins today for the other officers working with Derek Chauvin when he murdered George Floyd. The other 3 pleaded not guilty to federal charges of violating Floyd’s civil rights. Chauvin pleaded guilty & may testify against them. Their State trial starts in June
8 men and 10 women have been selected to serve on the jury for the federal trial of Tou Thao, Thomas Lane and Alexander Keung who are charged in the death of George Floyd. The majority of the jurors are white according to reporters in the courtroom. The trial begins Monday
