Locals (like us) & clinic users should be able to use Rosslyn Rd without feeling harassed/threatened. Not about taking sides on abortion or stopping free speech
Rosslyn Road BPAS Clinic Buffer Zone renewal consultation is now OPEN - https://t.co/9PF7t1PRMl
Takes around 5 mins to complete, see the questions and tips for responding are here https://t.co/sHBOuckQQn
Closing date: Aug 30th.
Liberal Democrats support calls for buffer zones around clinics.
In March, Sarah Olney introduced her Bill on the issue - we will continue working cross-party to ensure no one is harassed when accessing these vital services

This is very much only a first step - but great to see such overwhelming support in Parliament for national legislation for #BufferZones#BackOff. Massive thanks to one of our local MPs @sarahjolney1
MPs have just voted 213 - 47 to support @RupaHuq's cross-party bill to put a stop to protests outside abortion clinics. Just the first step for the bill - but great to see such support for women being able to access healthcare without fear of harassment or intimidation. #BackOff
"This bill would have them moved away from clinic gates of all abortion facilities so they can stop the emotional blackmail of calling women approaching 'mum', lining the pavement with gruesome foetus dolls and images and filming women to shame them." https://t.co/qlJYodx2xB
@RupaHuq introducing a cross party bill to prevent protests outside abortion clinics TODAY. In Richmond we now have a PSPO but it requires renewing every 3 years, a huge waste of time and money, we support national legislation. Thank you to everyone involved in this bill.
Tomorrow, @RupaHuq will introduce her cross-party bill on abortion clinic protests to the House of Commons. In the last two years, 46 clinics in England and Wales have had protests outside. Women and healthcare professionals need help. We need a new law. #BackOff

We are proud to be a signatory on this letter to @patel4witham. The PSPO around #RosslynRoad has been in force since April and we will continue to push for national legislation.
In the last year, 34 abortion clinics in England and Wales have had protests outside. Today we're asking @patel4witham to revisit last year's flawed conclusion that national buffer zones weren't a 'proportionate response' to this harassment. #BackOffย https://t.co/Lls6WFrqA4
@jeremyr1@CalumRutter@richmondtimes The very first line in the article sets up a debate about abortion. This has never been about abortion but about the rights of women accessing a legally provided healthcare service without fear and intimidation.
@jeremyr1@CalumRutter@richmondtimes It's a shame no one from Reclaim Rosslyn Road was asked for an opinion for this follow up piece. This campaign was largely about the harrassement our members witnessed and were subject to on a near daily basis. The impact on clients seems to get almost no air time here.
@twickenhamclp Really pleased to know our campaign really did have cross party support as we had not previously heard from Twickenham Labour. Oh and Rosslyn is with two ss ๐๐ป
There are so many people to thank for the @LBRUT decision tonight. bpas Richmond staff are so grateful, for starters, for the huge support from all our local councillors over the past couple of years. @JamesHenryChard@RogerCrouch1@JuliaNedenWatts@susanchappellTW and Helen Hill
