@bevvo14@abcnews@ScottLucas_EA ๐ They look like they fit normal sized feet, but I think we all know those are some mighty enormous shoes to fill!
@bevvo14, 100% my privilege to chat everything space, science and bad puns with you.
Wishing you all the best for wherever your normal-sized feet take you xx

@kyliesoanes Ikr?
I get this a bit (usually after TV interviews) and mostly I stress about being "nice" and not offending ppl. But seriously, I've kinda had enough of the blatant entitlement now.
I didn't realise you have to click on it to see the final message, which is "wow".
Sure, thanks, pal... I'm super grateful for being asked to say "thank you" for an unsolicited 'compliment' (?? surely the digital version of a wolf whistle constitutes harrassment) in my WORKPLACE
๐ "We need to be producing more #polymaths": a main theme of #talks I give to schools &businesses.
How?
๐๏ธ Take the scenic route, learn lots of different stuff, follow your interests as much as you can. Develop a pervasive inquisitiveness & love of #learning &understanding!

The more I hear from the Covid enquiry, the more I think that the PM and the majority of ministers did not have the intellectual tools necessary to understand scientific advice and therefore to be able to weigh it successfully alongside economics, social science etc. In my view this can be traced to educational failure - they werenโt taught or didnโt learn the basics of science alongside their chosen disciplines. This also applies the other way round to scientists of course. Breadth of knowledge is key, as well as specialisation / expertise, and I donโt think our system delivered that in the 80s and 90s when I (and they) went to University - whether it does that today is an open question. I think we need to be producing more polymaths.

๐Also. Um. I've watched cricket since I was knee-high... This just occurred to me...
A maiden.
Six balls. Sans soilage. No runs, just... dot balls.
Kinda...yuck
I noted this "lack of soilage" thing and my dear partner, like the people of Krikkit, stated, "this needs to go"...
Marais Erasmus doesn't need "recommending" he needs some spectacles and some sort of hearing device... I heard it from here... ๐๐
