@vortexau I would love to get my son into karting, but for us it's the cost that holds us back for now.
Teaching him to rip in the paddock Mazda will have to do for now!
I start my new role as a Security Analyst at a hospital in just over a week!
Now I need to make sure I donβt burn out too much from trying to document all the processes and automation at my current work in the last few daysβ¦ π
At the beginning of this year, I made a post saying I was sure that by the end of the year, I would have a job in security, and I'm happy to say that I finally have found it!
I was so close to giving up on my dream of a job in cyber security, for almost two years, I have been applying and did not get a single response for a security-related job. I knew it would be hard without the work experience, certs, degree or anything, but miracles do happen!
@joff_thyer@pink_tangent@vortexau Also there were a couple of very vocal, indigenous people who were part of the No campaign. So many people I spoke to just saw that and assument as the most vocal supported no, that most indigenous didn't want it.
Which is incorrect.
@joff_thyer@pink_tangent@vortexau The no campaign was better marketed and amplified by different groups.
One of the arguments was "if you don't know, vote no" just encouraging people to vote no, rather than find out what it's about.
Most people I spoke to didn't understand it, or had only heard misinformation
@joff_thyer@pink_tangent I feel it's also easier to spread messages of fear, division and misinformation, than it is to unify people.
I too was sitting here with friends last night and none of us wanted to look at the news so we wouldn't be reminded :-/

@fancy_4n6 Yeah I did that to a 4 port switch at my last job. Ended up breaking the metal housing trying to remove it. From that moment on I decided to keep IPA in my draw at all times
@fancy_4n6 I have a 1987 IBM Model M I'm doing up to daily drive. If not that then a split keyboard.
Then again, don't take what I do as good advice, I'm just weird.
@abaranov@fancy_4n6 @LitMoose Same problem with horses.
My firends are always like, "im thinking of getting my kid a pony, they are not too expensive to buy"
Problem is, the saddle alone is worth more than most ponies!
