Imagine the sheer, historic insanity of an American president handing nuclear capabilities to the very kingdom that produced 15 of the 19 September 11 hijackers and the mastermind himself, Osama bin Laden.
That is the surreal reality we are watching unfold. Mohammed bin Salman — the bone-saw butcher of Jamal Khashoggi — has clearly sized up the current occupant of the White House and concluded, correctly, that for the first time in modern history Saudi Arabia is dealing with an American leader whose personal enrichment outweighs every strategic, moral, and national-security consideration.
The result has been a pure bonanza for Riyadh: access, protection, technology, and leverage that no previous president would have dreamed of granting.
What used to be a carefully managed, eyes-wide-open relationship with a problematic ally has been reduced to a transactional free-for-all in which American blood, American graves, and American principles are just more chips on the table.
They died serving our country. They should be honored, not erased.

James Talarico: “You may not be interested in politics, but politics is interested in you. Your boss at work, he cares about politics. Your landlord, he cares about politics. Today, Ukraine's Defense Forces struck one of the key military enterprises in Russia's Kirov. It supplies components for the occupier's aircraft and missile systems, which are used, in particular, in the massive attacks against our cities and communities. I thank our warriors for their precision. Our response is entirely justified.
Our long-range sanctions also proved effective against an oil facility nearly 1,350 kilometers away. There were other successful strikes as well. Importantly, the operation against Russian logistics, which supplies the occupying army with drone components, navigation equipment, and military gear, remains underway.
I thank every unit of our Armed Forces, our intelligence agencies, and the Security Service of Ukraine involved in achieving these results. Glory to Ukraine!
