Humanity, created by God in all its grandeur, is today facing a pivotal choice: either to construct a new Tower of Babel or to build the city in which God and humanity dwell together. In Jesus Christ, this humanity in its grandeur becomes the Way, the Truth and the Life, opening the path for each of us to grow toward fullness. #MagnificaHumanitas

Notts County 3-0 Salford City
Mark Stallard: "These are lifelong memories! We've been in this position as players and you can never take days like this for granted!"
Adam Chicksen: "The passion that these fans have is electrifying! These players will go down in history!"
Notts gone up! I was there! Classy performance. Magnificent support! Wheelbarrow song on repeat! And all on the hottest ever May day! You Pies!!! See you in League 1. Avanti!
Remembering Thomas Archer d. 22 May 1743, architect of S. Paul's, Deptford, where I've been the Rector for almost 20 years. Engraving of 1731, a year after the church was consecrated. The original Rectory, also designed by Archer (to the right of the church), is sadly no more.
Happy Feast of S. Dunstan, Abp of Canterbury (960-988). Remembering 10 happy years at S. Dunstan's, Bellingham (1996-2006) & praying for the Bellingham Estate, friends & colleagues from that period. Here is S. Dunstan's drawing of himself at Christ's feet from his "Classbook".
Wembley! A tense, nervy 99' match, w/ little quality & few chances. No wilting! Hard working. 2 SF clean sheets. Belshaw MoM, calm & a sensational save. Now a chance of getting back to Lg1 v Salford. Joyful! Wheelbarrow song, Que sera, sera on repeat. 17k sellout. COYP! Avanti!
I remember the day very well. A Scottish parishioner in where I was serving my curacy in Sheffield was weeping at her front gate as I walked by on my way back home. 'Have you heard what's happened?' We prayed for John Smith & his loved ones. The best PM we never had. May he RIP.
#OTD 1994. Death of Labour Leader John Smith
Having been 20pts ahead in the polls, he had
taken apart the Major Government - mired in sleaze and incompetence:
“If we were to offer that tale of events to the BBC…It might have even been too much for "Some Mothers Do 'Ave Them"
Deserved advantage Notts! Hard working, battling, scrappy at times, yet with more composure from our multiple crosses might've been a bigger margin. Chessie missed a pen 6' hit post, but few clear opps otherwise. Won by Luker's calm finish at the far post, in off GK 28'. Avanti!
Very good to see some wonderful colleagues be appointed to canonries at Southwark Cathedral this afternoon. A particular treat to see Revd Canon Fr Paul Butler given the honour, and I remain grateful to him and the people of S Paul’s Deptford for the formational years spent there
