@NoahCur88319363 I will say that I find a lot of material within Catholicism to distance myself from the culturally Protestant nature of the American empire.
Catholicism is kinda occulty and communal in ways that come across as un American. We are (supposed to be) more loyal to Rome than DC.

@rightscholar I can’t quite escape the sense that trad Catholics who want Protestants to return focus on apostolic succession which they treat as code for maintaining an all male priesthood, while understating the far larger theological issues of like…what the Eucharist means.

@horusascent I won’t deny that many people in the Church sin and misuse the Church for in Christian purposes. But fundamentally Christianity is a slave’s religion. We accept that our purpose is to serve God, and that the highest act is to forfeit your life in that service.

@Culro272440 I’m a cradle Catholic, but accepting myself as trans allowed me to truly process and internalize the radical things we are taught that most Catholics never have to truly contend with.
