The Brutal Irony of Venezuelan History: Maduro the Street Fighter vs. Delcy the Empire’s puppet.

Rare 2002 footage that hits harder today than ever.

A young Nicolás Maduro, megaphone blazing, rallies the Caracas streets right after the US-backed coup that kidnapped Hugo Chávez. “¡Devuélvanlo al pueblo!” he thunders. He talks about the popular military uprising in Maracay, loyal units from army, guard, navy and air force uniting, and demands the traitorous generals return the President immediately.

This was Chávez’s real kidnapping: arrested at Miraflores, flown first to La Orchila island military base offshore, then to Turiamo naval base. He refused to sign any resignation, got word out to the world via phone, while the oligarchs installed Pedro Carmona and dissolved the constitution.
The empire thought it was done in 47 hours.

Maduro fought on the ground with the people and loyal military to bring him back. Raw revolutionary energy.

Now zoom to 2026.
After US special forces raid Caracas in January, capture Maduro and his wife in a nighttime operation, and fly them out, the same military high command — long softened by years of US carrots, sanctions pressure, and quiet alignments — quickly pivots. They back Delcy Rodríguez as “interim president.”

Delcy wastes zero time: sanctions lifted, oil fields thrown open to American companies, pragmatic deals with Washington. The woman who once stood with the revolution now facilitates the surrender Maduro once helped prevent.

The irony is savage.
The fighter who demanded Chávez’s return from a US-influenced military kidnapping watches (or is forced to watch) as parts of that same military institution, now even more aligned with external power, enable the handover of sovereignty.
History doesn’t lie. It records who stood firm when the empire struck in 2002… and who folded when it struck again in 2026.

True character reveals itself under pressure.

Not everyone survives the test.

No he robado un solo peso del erario ni cometido ningún delito. Se me promete la cárcel solo por mi posición política progresista en favor del pueblo.

Esto pasa porque el proyecto detrás de Abelardo es el mismo que estuvo detrás de Uribe que ya lo apoya: el fascismo mafioso que ya ha gobernado en Colombia.

Todo pueblo tiene la obligación moral ante la humanidad de derrotar el fascismo.

Lo que dejó el fascismo allí donde ha gobernado es un holocausto. Holocausto en Europa, holocausto en China, holocausto en Chile, Uruguay y Argentina.

Holocausto en Colombia, porque fue el fascismo el que goberno a Colombia en la época de Laureano y Ospina, y luego con la gobernanza de los paramilitares que dejaron 200.000 muertos.

Yo me levanté con mis palabras públicas contra ellos y sin un arma los derroté y por eso soy presidente. Y ahora hablan de venganza cuando creen que pueden volver al poder. Destripar al progresismo y encarcelar, que en realidad significa asesinar a su dirigente.

Sé de la cantidad de votos que compraron a manos llenas 150.000 y 200.000 pesos el voto. Se que buscan la desbandada y alistan los cuchillos y los colmillos. Sé de las debilidades de la campaña progresista.

Pero vamos a ganar y derrotar al fascismo.

Abelardo nació en Córdoba y yo también. Es de familia terrateniente y defensor del paramilitarismo y yo soy hijo de campesinos y medianos productores del agro.

Miren el resultado electoral: fue derrotado estruendosamente en el pueblo donde nació: Sahagún. Y fue derrotado estruendosamente en toda Córdoba, su departamento: 360.000 votos contra 260.000 que él obtuvo.

Fué derrotado en todo el Caribe colombiano.

¿Por qué? Porque en su pueblo lo conocen y saben lo que pasaría si un fascista defensor del paramilitarismo llega al poder.

Así que tengo la obligación moral con la humanidad y con la historia y la vida de Colombia de derrotar al fascismo mafioso.

Llamo a toda persona demócrata a defender la democracia contra la muerte que se avecina.

Una enorme "Alianza por la Vida" sin exclusiones.

Se necesitan tres millones de votos más. Yo necesitaba esa misma cantidad cuando saque menos votos que Cepeda en primera vuelta y me superaban los votos mucho más que ahora de los que no me querían.

A toda la juventud de Colombia les digo que junto al progresismo será la juventud y la gente de los campos y el liderazgo popular, los que serán enfrentados con violencia, las mafias armadas ya han hecho eso recientemente. Volverán al ejército y la policía de hace 5 años. Los ajúas y los Vargas están listos. Deshonrar el uniforme es su tarea.

Por eso a la juventud toda le digo, es la hora de salir a votar en masa como nunca antes. A defender la Vida propia.

Ahora el voto es para defender la vida propia y de los hijos e hijas.

Yo tomaré mis propias decisiones.

Tenemos una tarea por la Humanidad y la Vida. Si el corazón del mundo es tomado por los espectros de la muerte como en el pasado. Muere la esperanza del mundo.

Colombia es el corazón del mundo y el país de la belleza y debe ser el faro brillante de la esperanza del mundo, esa es la misión del pueblo colombiano.

Yo logré el avance social más importante en la historia del pueblo todo, por 150.000 pesos no vendan los avances logrados, no los pierdan tontamente. Hay que ir por más avances y no entregarlos por un plato de lentejas.

Si los tigres vinieran realmente a Colombia matarían las especies vivas que hay y a los seres humanos. No seamos tontos, no necesitamos extranjeros que no viven en el pais sino en Miami e Italia y no piensan sino en venganza como los "squifos" italianos y en la codicia para si mismos.

Vamos a dar la batalla por la Vida y la Historia libertaria se Colombia. Aquí no se rinde nadie, aquí vamos a ganar y yo mismo me pondré al frente.
