A very big thank you to Jacqui and the team at @RediscoveryCtr for having us yesterday. Fantastic to see all the work they do to repair, reuse, remanufacture and recycle items. A very good reminder at this time of year to use your imagination to repurpose items around you.
This week's Let’s Fix Fashion upcycling webinar celebrated creativity and sustainability through student innovation and expert demonstrations. The session opened with highlights from the recent Let’s Fix Fashion catwalk showcasing resourceful upcycled outfits. Sarah, our GS LFF Ambassador from Coláiste Muire shared her own upcycling projects, offering practical ideas that encourage young people to reimagine what they can do with pre-loved clothing. This was followed by an engaging live demo from the Rediscovery Centre, where Aaran demonstrated practical mend and repair skills giving participants confidence to try upcycling themselves. Farhan from Millstreet Community School also contributed to the session, presenting some of her unique upcycling creations and introducing a sustainable fashion app she is developing!
