Spain's Foreign Minister, José Manuel Albares. We reflect on the future of Transatlantic alliance & EU's security plans. I asked him why Spain unlike its EU partners, has taken a firm stance on Israel. "Justice. It is because of justice for Palestinians."

@OupaOJ@RediTlhabi Crazily- when I read Dina’s name , Qedani’s face came to mind - it took a while to register I was mixing up the shoddy leaders there by ANC.
"The Editorial Board." Why are your authors reluctant to put their names to their words? Yes I know "The Editorial Board" is a thing in the US and you seem to have cut and pasted their style and tone. But I'd argue there is a more compelling case for bold, courageous and transparent authorship. If you are not brave enough to show name and face, you should not write. Readers need to know the orientations, beliefs and history of the writers. It's a decent thing to do when people have taken the time to read your stuff. I personally don't debate anonymous writers, however compelling their output. Cowardice is a total turnoff. And whatever one might think of Leon, he is not a coward. So own your defence of him.

But also sis, he removed the last Social Development Minister for these kinds of shenanigans. And now replaces her with someone whose shenanigans were confirmed by Parliament and the Public Protector? @CyrilRamaphosa is not serious.
Furthermore what does it say about @MYANC members. You have shamed yourself parliament, your party and South Africa but you still raise your filthy hand for leadership positions? Where is the shame? Why not go away quietly? Controbute in other ways so as to gain redemption? But no, they want the position and visibility regardless. They may want to forget but we should not.
Dina Pule? ANC tradition trumps right and wrong? How did she leave parliament the first time? Here is a reminder:
July 2013, President Zuma removed her as Minister of Communications. Even by Zuma's low standards, she was not fit for office.
A parliamentary ethics inquiry subsequently found that she had breached Parliament's Code of Ethical Conduct. Pule had failed to disclose material aspects of her relationship with Phosane Mngqibisa, enabling him to benefit improperly from government-related activities. She also misled the inquiry on key facts.
Public Protector Thuli Madonsela issued a report finding that Pule had acted unlawfully and unethically, concluding that she had "persistently" misled investigators and recommending that she apologise and repay public funds spent on Mngqibisa's travel.
And today, 13 years later, @CyrilRamaphosa thinks this doesn't matter. It matters to many voters and you can not wish us away.
📰 President Ramaphosa announces changes to the National Executive
President Cyril Ramaphosa will be making changes to the national executive following consultation with the leadership of the Democratic Alliance as a member of the Government of National Unity (GNU).
These changes will affect the Ministries of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Trade, Industry and Competition, Electricity and Energy, Higher Education, and Water and Sanitation.
Accordingly, President Ramaphosa will in line with section 91(3)(b) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa (“the Constitution”) appoint:
Mr Willem Aucamp as the Minister of Agriculture,
Mr David Maynier as Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment.
Furthermore, in accordance with section 93(1)(a) of the Constitution, President Ramaphosa is appointing the following Deputy Ministers:
Mr John Steenhuisen as Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition,
Ms Alexandra Abrahams as Deputy Minister of Electricity and Energy,
Mr Jack Bloom as Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation,
Mr Yusuf Cassim as Deputy Minister of Higher Education.
In the vacant Ministry of Social Development, President Ramaphosa has appointed Ms Dina Pule as the Minister of Social Development in accordance with section 91(3)(b) of the Constitution.
President Ramaphosa wishes all the incoming Ministers and Deputy Ministers well in their roles.
They are not serious. What I don't understand is that CR is not coming back for a third term. This is it. He can really craft a firm legacy..there is nothing to be lost. But then we are clearly in "birds of a feather" territory.
The Constitution barely survived today.
By a 5-4 vote, Trump’s Supreme Court declined to let him rewrite the Constitution and end birthright citizenship.
We’re hanging on by a thread. The fight to defend our democracy is far from over.
The first paragraph of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s concurrence is a devastating takedown of Justice Thomas’s heinous opinion:
“The Reconstruction Amendments were an anticaste, antisubordination reset for the Nation, not a mere spot treatment for the dark stain of slavery.”
@zilevandamme@RediTlhabi We're all talking about lobbying and Starlink, but nobody seemed to care much when Justshare put out this report a year back: https://t.co/KcuNeJ4GPU
