Year 11 students @RedmaidsHigh, Hattie and Ella, were so inspired by the poem they studied, 'La Belle Dame Sans Merci', that they found her! Here they are with their discovery at the Bristol Museum - a Frank Dicksee painting depicting the femme fatal and knight in Keats' poem.
Our Year 12 team of Catherine, Mitusha and Ellen, pictured at QEH Theatre after the Bristol Round of the Rotary Youth Speaks competition last night. Their topic "Beauty Pageants Should be Banned" was a critique ofmodern beauty standards - were one of the close runners up! 👏
And now for the Intermediate team of Year 9 students @RedmaidsHigh consisting of Esther, Freya and Tara... With their topic "All Gendered Schools Should be Abolished", they gave an outstanding performance to win the event and go through to the District Round in February! 👏👏👏
Here is the other Year 12 senior team in action! Maddy, Muznah and Ffion's topic was "Space Exploration is a Waste of Money" - an intriguing take on the use of resources. An electric performance filled with Star Trek puns, they came a very close 2nd place with 95/100 points! 👏👏
