1 big red flag for me was Brandon Johnson not caring enough to pay his water bill. It demonstrated a lack of respect towards public institutions when it wasn't convenient, and a gross carelessness towards his obligations - now we're seeing that play out in real time (1/2)
Wait, what? Her partner is CEO of The Onion? No wonder she’s been getting so many puff piece interviews.
I guess this makes her carpetbaggery somewhat less repulsive in that she followed her man here, instead of choosing Chicago willy nilly. Seem more of like the proverbial SAHM wife of the rich guy who runs a boutique or yoga studio that loses $10K/month to say busy.
(Still, for a near teenager to think she can adequately represent a people and a place she has no connection to in Congress is shitty, insulting behavior and my prediction of her finishing no better than 3rd in the Dem primary holds.)
I would venture to guess that Covid 'theft' was way over $1 trillion.
Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who didn't take a PPP 'loan.' There are wealthy people who bought cars, boats and even built houses with the money .. even as their business boomed.
2/3 of teachers just re-upped with CTU’s militant Marxist clown show. Revisionist, grievance-fueled, proudly anti-merit. Brutal loss for CPS families. Massive win for private schools. CTU should enjoy their new contract while it lasts - AI teaching assistants don’t need pensions!
It's embarrassing that the city of Chicago has to hire a private firm to manage its finances because apparently none of the 50 aldermen nor the mayor or any of his appointees are capable of responsibly managing city finances.
It seems both the state and the city routinely overestimate revenue and underestimate costs while ADDING more costs and never cutting any.
It isn't rocket science but no one at city hall is able to figure that out apparently.
It becomes that much more obvious with each passing day that Brandon Johnson (the "most progressive mayor in the history of Chicago") was the worst possible choice for this city.
Just got word that Secretary Noem is asking for an addition to her budget - a new private Gulfstream 5 jet for her personal national photo op tour. She's already got a private plane but wants a tricked out new one.
All while she supports kicking 13 million people off Medicaid.
