One month on from the local elections & the Green Party has already plunged Lambeth into chaos.
They've abandoned their manifesto pledge to introduce a committee system, proposed the biggest pay rises to their Cabinet members & caused two by-elections.
Lambeth deserves better👇
In 2021 Lambeth Greens proposed scrapping many cabinet allowances
In 2022 they campaigned to scrap them
In 2024/25/26 they proposed massively cutting them
Within weeks of taking office in 2026 they proposed the most expensive allowances scheme on the table
Quite a journey 💸
It was good to take a trip up the A23 today to join our @LambethLabour neighbours and their excellent candidate @LouieSomerville campaigning for the upcoming by-election in Clapham Park ward.
Thanks to everyone who stopped for a chat with us!🌹🙏
Great to be out speaking to constituents in Crofton Park ahead of the council by-election, including on Ebsworth Street where I lived for most of my 20s. Lovely to see some old neighbours again!
It gave me great pleasure to celebrate the inauguration of our new Mayor, Cllr David Gardner and Deputy Mayor, Cllr Raja Zeeshan. I’m under no doubt that they will represent our borough, and its communities, with time, patience and consideration.
Hackney Labour Group of councillors 2026/27: ‘Where this new Green Party Council administration acts in the interests of Hackney residents, Labour will welcome it. Where it falls short, we will challenge it — constructively, firmly, and always in the interests of our communities'
This is what happens when you don't have Labour running local authorities.
@mhclg should take Crews Hill out of Enfield’s hands, designate it as a Development Corporation, and get on with building the homes London desperately needs.
This directly contradicts what Cabinet Secretary @Adamprice said just last week.
Either we build the above-ground pylons businesses need, or we accept the delays and costs that come from refusing to build them.
You cannot claim to support economic growth while blocking the infrastructure required to deliver it.
Today is Kent Day!
From coast to capital, urban to rural Kent is a superb place to visit, learn, work & live.
(Unsurprisingly I particularly love a very specific 16% of Kent!)
Great that the Kent flag was highlighted both at Gun Wharf & Parliament

A powerful letter from Janet Daby, who is absolutely right to call this out.
Deleting a post, but failing to make amends and not even provide an apology is not good enough. I echo Janet's call for Mayor Shrivastava and Lewisham Greens to address this now and restore trust.
Here we go again.
Back on the @CamdenLabour doorstep in #RegentsPark ward.
Residents bewildered. Camden Green Party incompetence means their new ‘councillor’ unable to take up his seat as he’s ineligible. That’s a £30k taxpayer bill!
#VoteLabour stop #GreenPartyIncompetence
It was the honour of my life to move the Loyal Address -the first Muslim to do so.
This moment belongs to the people of Bradford West. Their trust and faith in me made it possible.
An opportunity of a lifetime. A privilege I owe to Bradford and to Britain.

Grateful to be re-endorsed as Leader of the Greenwich Labour Group alongside an outstanding team of Labour councillors ready to deliver our manifesto, Making Greenwich the Place to Be.
We’re proud of our record and ready to build on that progress over the next four years. 🌹 🌹
It’s a privilege to be re-elected to serve my home, @Royal_Greenwich Creekside for another 4 years & I’m delighted to be joined by Tillie Muir.
This is the most special place in the greatest borough in London. Together we will keep fighting and delivering for our community.
