@haadka One of the best arguments for why we shouldn’t be obsessed with when or who recognizes Somaliland. Recognition is a process, and it’s only a matter of time before other countries follow Israel’s lead.
The Hargeisa Debates team wishes all Somalilanders around the globe a happy 18 May!
Today we celebrate 35 years of resilience, unity and self-determination.
Aqoonsi iyo adkeysi.
@ahm_ibrahima Happy 18th of May. May this historic day bring joy, unity, peace, and lasting prosperity to our people. May it continue to inspire hope, resilience, and a brighter future for generations to come.
Historic Moment for Somaliland’s recognition!
The Republic of Somaliland is approaching a historic milestone in its pursuit of international recognition.
Tomorrow is a big day!
@maxed_s If those running the country had any real vision, they’d invest in buying the road construction equipment themselves instead of handing massive contracts to private companies. In the long run, it would cost far less and actually build national capacity.
The State of Minnesota has a recorded 90,000 graduates across the state.
Out of these 90,000 graduates, 40,298 have earned a Bachelor’s degree.
Among these 40,298 graduates, 7,448 are of Somali descent.
This means that for every 10 university graduates, Somalis constitute 2.
In other words, a population of less than 1% is responsible for 20% of college graduates.

@PaliNewsNetwork@MyronGainesX Holy cow, i thought Somalians stood with Palestine and defended Arabs at every turn, but yeah, expecting basic respect for Somaliians is apparently too much to ask...
@RepOfSomaliland Simply say, we are not an official page of any Somaliland institution, and our posts do not represent any government body. With that understood, there is no need for further clarification or apology
@thebhlub@somalilandmfa, This account needs attention. Whether the intentions are good or not, the reality is that it’s doing a disservice to the country
@maxed_s@somalilandmfa This handle is doing disservice to Somaliland. I hope they stop or someone makes them stop presenting itself as an official page of the Somaliland government. It’s misleading and undermines credibility.
@RepOfSomaliland You’re doing a disservice to Somaliland. Please stop presenting yourself as an official page of the Somaliland government. It’s misleading and undermines credibility
@Abdirahman_Gaas He seems unusually triggered by anything related to Somaliland—whenever the name comes up, he immediately jumps to labeling it “secessionist” and throwing around other empty terms, as if that somehow weakens Somaliland’s position. It comes off less like a serious argument.
@AnalystSomalia Somaliland seems to be such a sensitive topic for you that whenever it’s mentioned, you immediately label it as “secessionist.” Instead of dismissing it like that, maybe put that same energy into addressing issues in Somalia
Some Somalian social media accounts are claiming Maersk suspended services to/from Berbera due to Israel recognition or Mogadishu pressure. This is false. Here's what's actually happening 👇
1) The real cause: the Iran-Gulf war. Last month, Maersk halted all Gulf shipping — not just Berbera. This is a regional pause, not a political move targeting Somaliland.
