Well deserved! Obsession has landed itself now as one of my favourite films and I've not stopped thinking about it since I saw it 🎥
Not only because it's a fantastic character study but its ability to explore important modern issues like the male loneliness epidemic.
@lttl_kttn You should! 100% not a horror movie fan, but I absolutely loved Obsession. So far, it's earned its place as one of my favorite movies of all time. Definitely see it before it's out of theaters.
@StopTweetingMia Ian's fine to keep it to himself; if it were anyone else. However, it is a little suspect when he is giving Bear somewhat bad advice on how to get with Nikki at the same time, as it will only end their friendship in disaster, which it does.
@MintBlitz Probably the only exciting thing about this remake. I've played CE & CEA more times than I can count, so nothing about another remastered CE excites me, but I'll definitely take some new original missions.
@dcfavour25@DiscussingFilm Probably one of the best movies I've ever seen, and I say that as someone who mostly dislikes horror. I'd definitely see it in theatres before you no longer can.
@tobeyy_mag My first red flag was Bear putting his cat in the trash. For a creature he apparently loved so much he disposes of it incredibly quickly and shows his somewhat stifled emotional reaction to things that will only get worse as the film goes on.
@Jtaylor0_3 I can't help but feel Vader's presence makes sense here, though. Considering there are three force users and the Inquisitors are obviously not capable enough to stop them, Vader is the logical next step.
Despite all the problems of US legal immigration, the green card process isn't too expensive and you get many rights.
By comparison, the UK is sadly putting up barriers even on things like spousal immigration, which makes it hard to think about ever living there with my wife.
"It is essential that the privilege of living in this country forever is earned and not automatic."
Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood outlines new immigration reforms, including expanding the qualifying period and meeting certain conditions to qualify.

When I started living in the US I was taught very quickly that 20% is the expected minimum. This is far below that.
Many US restaurants unfortunately underpay their staff and so these servers rely on tips to survive. It is not good, but it is what the system is right now.
We went to a dinner as a group and had a $500 bill. We tipped $40. We were happy we can be able to give our server something, but her reaction was the opposite. She told us she assumed we're going to give her at least $120. When we asked for the manager, she said she was just joking, but she wasn't smiling at all. Idk, but is $40 tip enough for $500 bill? I just feel like expecting $120 is not realistic.

Reshuffles in government are inevitable, sometimes things don't work out, personal scandals happen etc but I strongly dislike how often minsters are reshuffled. You can't expect coherent government policy when ministerial positions are reshuffled every year like a house of cards.
Officially Mr and Mrs Glass-James. Finally married my fiancée McKenzie Glass on August 22nd 2025.
Thanks to all the great people who attended and helped make the day so special 🇬🇧 🇺🇸
@JoeOTooIe Yeah, I'd probably agree that I think the benefits outweigh the risks for mail-ins because at least you can vote in private in your home unlike online voting where there is no security at all.
I used to think this was a good idea. Now I've seen too many online elections be skewed because of voter intimidation that happens in person or phone snatching.
In-person voting ensures people have a safe place to be able to cast their vote free of factors like harassment.
@JoeOTooIe Generally, yes, but there are still risks. Used to know a councillor who'd steal his 50+ tenants' postal ballots and post them all for themselves. That does not happen often, I admit, but it's always made me uncomfortable about anything not in person.
June 27th officially concluded my term as community and wellbeing officer at Leicester Students' Union and closed the door on my five years studying and working at the University of Leicester. It has been a fantastic journey. Now onto the next challenge! 🏆
Banning dating apps is not the solution. As I know, the majority of my friendship group and I would not be in the relationships we are in without them. Although dating apps are not perfect, they've allowed lots of people to connect who otherwise wouldn't, which is a huge benefit
BAN THEM. Dating apps are making heterosexual men and women dislike, and sometimes even hate, one another.
They encourage the worst possible behaviour towards other people and degrade…everyone. https://t.co/Rfalu72OrF
On March 25th, I'll be participating in the Big Sleep at the University of Leicester to raise money for the charity, The Bridge Homelessness to Hope, which specialises in supporting the homeless.

@EllStats I don't think this is true. According to Tony Gilory, neither he nor Diego Luna wanted to do 5+ years of Star Wars so they cut Andor from 5 seasons to only 2 intentionally.
