@DerekOakey Yes that would have been a better decision. You right that he followed the rules. My point is he clearly did it because he felt it was an advantage knowing the rule. But the committee could deem that as a serious breach not in keeping with the spirit of the game.
@DerekOakey Which they absolutely could have. It's subjective in this case. And in my opinion as a person who deals with Juniors on a regular basis they failed in their responsibility
@DerekOakey Unless it's a serious breach. And determining its a serious breach is solely up to the decision of the committee. This is where they failed. His actions were intentional and done to gain an advantage and not in keeping with the spirit of the game
@DerekOakey Don't get me wrong I agree with you. But they could DQ him for it. It's not black and white in this case. But it sets a bad example for the next generation.
@DerekOakey It's not about doing something in anger or discust. He deliberately struck a moving ball because he felt the two stroke penalty was worth it.
