سابقا كانت المدارس تدرس مواد الرسم والخط والموسيقى والفلسفة والمنطق واللغة الفرنسية والهندسة والتربية الوطنية. كما كانت مدارس الطالبات تدرس مادة التدبير المنزلي من خياطة وطبخ وغيرها. هذا عدا طبعا عن حصص اللغة العربية المكثفة والتاريخ الاسلامي. لم تكن هذه المواد للدراسة فقط بل كانت تشكل جزءا من شخصية الطالب وهويته. كانت المدرسة في الماضي مؤسسة لصناعة الإنسان قبل أن تكون مكانا لتلقين المعلومة.
واللافت أن كل هذا البناء الفكري والوجداني كان يتم في نصف يوم دراسي، ينتهي الدوام قبل الظهيرة أو بُعيدها بقليل، ليُترك للطالب فسحة من الزمن يعيش فيها طفولته، ويتواصل مع أسرته ومجتمعه، ويكتشف ذاته خارج جدران الفصل. لم يكن الوقت المتبقي “وقتا ضائعا”، بل كان جزءا من المنهج غير المكتوب، حيث تُصقل الشخصية بالحياة كما تُصقل بالكتاب.
اليوم اختفت هذه المواد من مدارسنا دون بديل مقنع. هل التعليم الحالي، بكثافته وطول ساعاته، ينتج فعلا إنسانا أكثر وعيا ونضجا؟ ما هي الحصيلة العلمية والعملية للتعليم؟ هل تهدف المخرجات إلى بناء شخصية الطالب؟ ام أنها تهدف إلى تأهيله لسوق العمل؟ ام انها مجرد حشو وتقليد اعمى لبعض المناهج الغربية؟ هل هناك تقييم موضوعي لمخرجات التعليم الحالي على تكوين الإنسان لا على تكديس المعلومة؟ فالتعليم بشكله الراهن يبدو حشوا معرفيا كثيفا، لكنه حشو تنقصه الغاية، ويلتبس فيه الهدف، وتبقى حصيلته النهائية، رغم كل الجهد والوقت المبذولين، مبهمة.

وفي النهاية في الرواية الإسرائيلية، أصبح الفلسطيني هو من يتحمل المسؤولية لأنه دافع عن نفسه.

I had known him for three years and met him many times. He was always inspiring, brave and endlessly helpful for many reporters.

A 16-year-old student (now 22) from Limpopo, South Africa, has received attention for a safety device she designed. Her name is Bohlale Mphahlele. She created the idea for a device called the "Alerting Earpiece." It is a small device shaped like an earring. The goal is to help people in dangerous situations.

She got the idea because of high crime rates and gender-based violence in South Africa. She wanted to design something small, simple, and easy to use.

The design includes a small camera, a GPS tracker, and an alert button. The idea is that the user can press a hidden button. The device would then take a photo of the attacker. It would also send the user's location to trusted contacts and emergency services.

The device is still in development: The prototype has won awards (including bronze at the Eskom Expo) and international attention, but it’s not yet commercially available.
It will hit the market sooner than later show how one idea from one person will eventually effect the lives of many
