In 2019 when I couldn’t give a parent a good recommendation for a devotional for her preteen I thought “you know what? I’ve been leading them for years and and am in seminary I’ll write one myself.”
So I did…and then sat as a file for the next 3 years (longer story there).1/2

@tapounder Agree. If there really is only 2 episodes left they are going out on the top of tops based on how the last few episodes somehow keep getting better.

@BillyLowe1 A professor once told us in that culture an adoption couldn’t be undone/disowned (like you could with a birth child) which makes that language all the more beautiful whenever the Bible mentions it.
@NewYorkBeard@kevinmyoung so Paul’s freedom causes them to violate their belief and hurt their conscience. Other uses are more referring to stumbling refer to making it hard to follow God…kind of like telling women that existing in summer clothes is bad. 2/2

The most “popular” verse in 1 Corinthians 10 is referring to making someone do something they think is bad violating their conscience (they think sacrificed food is unclean but Paul doesn’t 1/2
Jesus says his disciples will be witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
For us that means some will stay local and some go all around the world. You don’t need to rack up sky miles to make a difference. Be a light right where you are
