لنا أن نتخيل ما تبقى من سيرة هذه السيدة 👇التي خرجت من بيت سياسي عريق. فوالدها نايجل لوسون، وزير الخزانة البريطاني في عهد ماغريت تاتشر، كان أحد العقول التي زعزعت إرث “المرأة الحديدية” من الداخل، لا من الشارع. أما زوجها السابق تشارلز سآتشي، قطب الفن والإعلان، ويقال إنه من أصول عراقية من أسرة الساعاتي، فكان جزءًا من تلك الهالة التي أحاطت بها. امرأة تقف في منتصف تقاطع غريب بين السياسة، والثروة، والمطبخ، واللغة.
لكن نايجيلا، في مقالها “الأول كما وصفته @ft”، لا تستدعي هذه السيرة لتتباهى بها، بل لتقول شيئًا أبسط وأعمق، إنها وصلت إلى الكتابة عن الطعام صدفة، وأن الطبخ المنزلي — بكل عشوائيته وارتباكه — هو ما أرادت الدفاع عنه. أرادت أن تكتب عن الطبخ كما يحدث فعلًا، بلا استعراض، بلا كاميرات، بلا وصفات مُحكمة، بل كفعل إنساني يعيدنا إلى أجسادنا، إلى روائحنا الأولى، إلى تلك الطمأنينة التي لا تمنحها إلا الأفعال البسيطة.
