I know a lot of young people feel disaffected right now, especially young men. Let me tell you a little story.

At a local small town meeting recently, an elected representative stumbled over her words, couldn’t really form her question, eventually asked something she should have known, and was just generally unimpressive. People were rolling their eyes and shaking their heads. Embarrassing scene.

I heard someone scoff from the back row, “How did SHE get elected?!”

Well, she ran unopposed. No scandal, scheme, or money. This is a board position that actually commands a bit of power and it was just wide open.

The thing I want all young people—especially young men who feel like they have no place in the world—to remember is, the levers of power and important posts have in many places been totally abandoned. The bar is very low. The gutter is littered with crowns.
