Texas Tech didn’t play a single blue-chip ratio roster all season long, so nobody knew exactly how they would stack up in a game like this

Georgia played 6 in 13 games. Alabama played 7 in 14 games.

It was interesting how little discussion there was around whether Texas Tech deserved a bye. The Red Raiders had the worst loss among the one-loss teams in that mix, and the worst strength of record and strength of schedule. Now they finally play an elite team, and it's BTA.
