• Current M72 tour has already moved 5+ million tickets and grossed well into the hundreds of millions (multiple reports put it among the highest-grossing metal tours ever, with stadium averages often 60k+). They’re still selling out shows in 2026.

• They’re currently in the middle of a 24-show “Life Burns Faster” residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas (Oct 2026–March 2027)—the first metal band to headline the place. Demand was so high they expanded from 8 to 24 dates and sold them out fast. Not exactly the “washed-up” trajectory you’re describing.
