@LKrantzberg@1bojcs Great question! Words are not spelled in English by sounding it out. As you know many letters (graphemes) can make many sounds (phonemes). Like Morah Lianna said it comes from Old English cicen (plural cicenu) "young of the domestic hen, the young of any birdβ
