2nd graders started their @Ozobot lesson today by getting to know Evo and labeling its parts. They also learned how to calibrate their Ozobot and programmed them using different color codes. They loved seeing the LED lights change color and creating their own color codes.
Check out this infographic that focuses on how librarians can support the ethical use of information! Thought this went well with our presentations! #FRIT7234SUMMER24
Our AASL National School Library Standards have 6 Shared Foundations. Today's focus is ENGAGE & how librarians support ethical use of information It's important for young people to be responsible creators and consumers & librarians are here to help! #CCSDLibrariesForALL#AASLslm
A very busy and brilliant ‘Let’s Play at Computer Science’ professional learning today at @SSERCDigital Hands on with Code & Go, Mouse Mania, Robot Mouse, Botley 2.0 to explore algorithms, patterns, abstraction, decomposition, repetition and debugging. Thanks Kevin 😀

@BarberBeli88277 This was helpful. I’m not sure if you’ve seen these videos for kids, but they’re great. This one is on decomposition. https://t.co/BwE2F1C2hT
This made me chuckle a little because this is how I felt this week, but I am enjoying this course so much and I’m learning more than I knew before!

Oh how much technology has actually advanced to some of the things Neil Postman expounds on in this video such as shopping online using technology!
#FRIT7234SUMMER24
@AbbeyHJ12 I thought it was interesting how some of the technology have to be programmed with certain information without ill intent to help the user gather information.
@MrsJones_steam This does look like a really good conference. Have you heard of GaETC? It will be in Georgia. Me and one other student in the program at GSU are going all three days! Here is the information.🙂

#FRIT7234Summer24 How neat! Using Scratch would been engaging for my 1st graders as we too did a PBL on animal habitats, but used the traditional shoe boxes. Great way to incorporate technology into PBL's.
This article I came across this week is very interesting. It highlights the importance of having a balance. In our district we use Amira, and I have found that while it is beneficial for some students it isn't for some. # https://t.co/kn7mKLPwJz #FRIT7234Summer24
@GSUEagle90s Wasn't that neat? I literally had never heard of scratch until now. I hate it is the end of the school year or else I would try it out with my students.
This reminds me of the importance of exposing students to Computer Science early! Not too complex, but getting exposure and building up those critical thinking skills. #FRIT7234Summer24
How could I forget to share the wonderful time I had with all these ECE teachers who came to my session to “play” and learn about Computer Science in the PreK Classroom! @ALSDEEdTech@TeachwithALEX@ATIMPD02@AL_DECE
To increase student engagement and meet state standards, Irving ISD knew hands-on solutions from #LEGOeducation would be the perfect fit for its diverse student population. Watch how this implementation helps students learn in a better way.
