Happy #Bitcoin Halving!
A halving event happens approximately every four years, or more specifically, every 210,000 blocks that are mined or added to the Bitcoin blockchain. In simple terms, "halving" refers to the reduction of the reward that miners receive for adding new blocks to the Bitcoin blockchain by 50%. The next one should take place in 2028.
Why Does Bitcoin Halving Happen?
The halving is programmed into Bitcoin's code by its creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, to control inflation. Unlike traditional money that is printed endlessly by governments, BTC has a fixed supply of 21 million coins. Halving helps slow down the rate of new bitcoins being created, ensuring that the final bitcoin won't be mined until about the year 2140.
Why should you pay attention?
The halving reduces the rate at which new bitcoins are created and released. A diminishing supply can lead to higher prices if demand remains steady. Today, this scenario is especially true, as Bitcoin ETFs are paving the way for increased adoption among retail and institutional investors.
This year, the halving feels different from previous cycles. Innovations like #Runes and #BRC20 took crypto by storm, expanding BTC's use cases. Minds like @rodarmor@LeonidasNFT are untapping on this undiscovered potential creating a new meta.
Staying informed on market trends like Bitcoin halving is key to navigating the crypto landscape effectively. Follow us at #PrimeTrader as we continue to revolutionize crypto trading, empowering you to make strategic decisions for higher returns. 🚀
@BitpandaPro Do you offer trading accounts for corporate clients in Spain? Last year, Bitpanda required translation of all corporate documents (incorporation docs) to English or German. Do you accept Spanish documents without translation in 2022? Thanks
