@30SecToMeltdown @nian_gao_jing @orchid_orbits @NandaTianwen01 Thai BL, Japanese BL, English BL are also called Danmei in Taiwan and Mainland when they talk about it generally. Only if they want to talk about it more specifically do they call it country + 耽 where 耽 is from 耽美 (Danmei)

I think only exception is "American/British BL" where they're generalized as 英耽 (Ying/English Dan).

Of course, there are times they want to be specific and they will call it:

Country+Dan (Dan from Danmei). If you're gonna go sound righteous to it, at least learn its history and usages from the country of origin.

Yeah. Say that to the Japanese/Korean/Thai/English BL dubbed danmei by the Chinese fan from Taiwan and Mainland. I'm sure you guys know more about their usage of words.
