Small changes in the classroom can really have a big impact on students with DLD (Developmental Language Disorder). It can be as simple as acknowledging that every day requires 100%. Learn more about DLD today: https://t.co/N5KiPrY8r5 #DLDday#DevLangDis
In October each year, we actively share with the public around the world about Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). DLD affects about 7% of children and it persists into adulthood. It impacts their school, social and work life. Let's speaking up for DLD on Oct 18! @RADLDcam
Best known as the voice of the @premierleague, football commentator Martin Tyler was facing permanent damage to his voice following the discovery of a growth on his larynx.
Hear how staff at @stgeorgestrust helped save his voice, getting him fit to do what he does best.
Right now, 1.9 million children are behind in talking and understanding words.
Without help, these children are more likely to be behind at school, have worse mental health and be out of work as adults. This will have a huge cost to their lives and the UK’s economy and society.
@iamjohndorn@StewGriffin52 @HazelAppleyard_ I think this post exemplifies why marriage is a useful step in a relationship. You make an active decision to choose that person for the rest of your life and commit to declaring that in front of family and friends (and the law, and God if you care about that).
@naomicfisher A thought about speaking exams specifically. In foreign countries current teens have learned to use Google translate! Why learn to speak a language fluently when you won’t need to. Also colonialism: 3 languages speaker = trilingual; 2 languages = bilingual; 1 language = English!!
@naomicfisher Meanwhile my children are all doing well at school and are highly self motivated! I’ve always given them autonomy within reason eg making packed lunches, responsible for their school bags etc. I show interest in their homework topics and we have regular family meals too.
@naomicfisher I’d be interested to see research into the correlation between children who are motivated by stickers and exam results. I have 4 kids and none of them were motivated by stickers, even from the dentist! (While I had a sticker collection album as a child!!).
@Girlguiding#WTD2024#ourthrivingfuture The 4th Chelmsford Brownies and Guides got together last week for a World Thinking Day evening and did the WAGGGS activities. This is the ‘thriving future’ mural they created.
