I been playing around with @tic_computer and I'm loving this system so far. this 3d setup gives me ideas for future projects. may try to implement simple lighting and animations. these models were GLTF converted to .tc3d a super compact format im working on i plan to use in games
I been looking around alternatives for Discord.
I tried Stoat, Element and Root.
@rootappofficial I will say Root is the best and actually is faster than discord. UI and Audio quality is better than discord. why didn't i know this exist before today?
Lately I have been getting way more into @Blender studying 2D animation and was practicing via Opentoonz but I love the GreasePencil system and how it interacts with 3D. I used blender for 3D modelling for games but I'm slowly phasing out of game making now focusing on animation.
trying to figure the whole audio streaming issue with Discord with Linux its a total headache. i thought they fixed it but I guess not. I'm probably going to have to look into alternate methods or services. ๐ซคif anyone know a work around let me know
@RedotEngine I'm keeping an eye on the how things go. My goal is to make games not drama. I have been spreading out to using more tools and such. I really do want to see this be successful.
@LillyByteGames i used to be all for the godot engine at one time but recent events took all the fun and energy out of it for me. I moved on to using frameworks again and going back to my roots.
@reduzio There's really nothing wrong with allowing more programming languages. As long as interfacing is setup for the language to where it makes sense for the language. having c# and c++ does give incentive to programmers and devs to try out Godot.
This Unity drama makes my efforts to improve glTF by building open standards even more important. We must get content creators to transition away from shipping content as Unity packages.
I believe it's important for content creators to use an open format instead of developing for one specific engine. We can make glTF be that format.
Imagine if, instead of importing an FBX of a car into Unity, then setting up the physics, colliders, headlights, wheels, seats, etc... you just made a glTF file in Blender that includes all of this information and can be imported into any engine that supports the format, no additional setup required.
To be clear, I don't want to build an ecosystem of Godot content, I want to build an ecosystem of engine-independent content, with Godot having first-class support.
If you want to get involved, check out OMI group. We have a Discord server. Come chat with us, from the high level stuff to the technical details. Building an open standard only works if we get a ton of people on board with a wide variety of experience across genres and engines.
