@DBurkland You know what would be more insane, if they released a newer version of the car after “discontinuation” and basically depreciates everyone’s car even more. I have a feeling they said it’s the last because of Osborne effect and will reopen it in Texas down the line.
@niccruzpatane Also you have the option to no worry about using bigger rims l, maybe I want to drive with 21” but I don’t want to go only 220 on a full charge. The data that people don’t need 500 miles comes from only looking at it from the point of view of “you only need 50 miles per day”.
@niccruzpatane I would love for my model S to come with over 500 miles while still have the same size battery. Less charging means less money spent even if it is less than gas and more convenience on where I want to stop. I’d say they should aim for 550 which would be over 400 for daily use.

However, I do agree that they needed to shut down the lines for S and X from Fremont as building quality there is not good. Love my S Plaid nonetheless and hope they bring them back from ground up new platform.
@markusdd5@JoshWest247 As a fellow Plaid S owner, the S and X were neglected by Tesla which is why the 3 and Y were better value vehicles. They were always the last to get updated as a flagship product. Unfortunately we will never see its true potential cuz they didn’t move the stock price.
@DBurkland@nikkharris@itsTimFrese Ya I remember seeing that post that’s what made me want to look into it, I’ve seen people do the whole bumper and rear which costs around 6.5k for a proper OEM part list. Also I know Tesla doesn’t sell new painted bumpers which sucks.
@nikkharris@DBurkland Is it not just the door module which you’ll probably have to buy the whole door card for 750 and the new decor pieces that has the strip which I believe is like 245? And you need that all for each door? What else is there?

@DBurkland@nikkharris I wish that Tesla will turn off VIN gated retrofits for older Model S and X vehicles with HW4 like the ambient lighting now that they’re being discontinued. Would be nice to retrofit and turn a 2024 to a 2026 DIY.
