At least 33 Americans—including Rabbi Jill Jacobs and congressional candidate Brad Lander—were detained by Israeli forces today while helping Palestinian farmers harvest olives. All those detained for peacefully participating in this harvest must be released immediately.
Palestinians shouldn’t have to risk their lives to harvest their own land. Settler violence terrorizes families and drives Palestinians from their homes and livelihoods, attacks that are enabled by a culture of impunity that treats Palestinian lives as expendable.
The U.S. must protect Palestinian lives by demanding an end to settler violence and the enforcement of real consequences for those carrying out and enabling these attacks.
Today, my office was alerted to a suspicious letter addressed to me reportedly containing a powdery substance, similar to letters sent to other congressional offices across the country.
I thank local and federal law enforcement officers for their swift response and efforts to keep my staff and constituents safe.
Political violence, threats, and intimidation have no place in our democracy. No public servant should have to fear for their safety simply for doing their job. We cannot allow threats or intimidation to become a normal part of public service.
I’m proud to have secured $1 million for @butleru to expand its engineering and business data analytics programs. This funding will support new labs and equipment, giving students hands on experience with the technology they will use in their careers.
What happened at Six Flags Over Georgia is heartbreaking.
Hasan Jihad Ibn Kariem was meant to enjoy a day of fun with his family, but instead the day ended in tragedy. We don't know the extent of what happened yet, but we do know that there are gaps in amusement park safety policies -- I've been raising the alarm on these safety concerns for years.
My National Amusement Park Ride Safety Act would improve safety standards and require all incidents to be thoroughly investigated. I'm calling for a full investigation into this tragic death and the other injuries on this same ride.
Hasan's family deserves justice. We can honor his memory by passing this important bill and ensuring this never happens again.

A 5-year-old was in the backseat when ICE agents shot at a car multiple times in New York yesterday.
Opening fire near a child is unsafe. Firing a gun in the middle of a busy street is unsafe. Performing arrests while masked and wearing construction vests is unsafe.
This administration will continue to try and defend their reckless, rogue, and cruel activity by insisting it’s about safety.
It’s not, and it never was.
Coburn Place in Indianapolis is a lifeline for survivors of domestic violence and their children.

MAGA Republicans promised a stronger economy and more jobs. Instead, working families got higher gas prices, expensive groceries, and an unnecessary war.
House Democrats are working to deliver real solutions for the American people.

Fewer than 40% of households in Martindale Brightwood own their home. I helped secure federal funding to change that. Today, we cut the ribbon on the first phase of Ralston Hills – & there’s much more ahead as we continue to preserve history & soul of Martindale Brightwood.
A public utility company should answer to the public, not shareholders. Hoosiers should not have to carry the burden of high electricity costs. That is why I led a bipartisan letter urging federal regulators to reject BlackRock's proposed acquisition of AES. This deal could raise the already high electricity bills for Hoosiers, and I will continue holding utility companies accountable.
Trump has spent $1.8 billion on vanity projects like the White House Ballroom and the Reflecting Pool. Here’s what that money could be spent on instead:
➡️600 million school lunches
➡️1.7 million months of childcare
➡️Restoring full Medicaid to 209,000 people
➡️17.7 million potholes filled
When it comes to Al, capability is not the same as judgment. Some decisions are simply too important to hand over to a machine.
My @CmteOnCCPDems colleagues and I held a first-of-its-kind hearing on the rapid development of Al. We need Al regulations, and we need them now.
Speaker Johnson sent Congress home early instead of holding a vote on common sense AI regulations — giving a free pass to tech billionaires. I joined 106 of my colleagues to demand Congress take action. The risks are clear and urgent, and we need to act now.
