Nearly 100 days into military operations in Iran, Congress is doing what it should have done from the beginning: asserting its Article 1 constitutional authority. Today, I voted for the War Powers Resolution because the American people deserve transparency, our troops deserve a clear strategy, and no administration should bypass Congress in matters of war. President Trump must end this illegal war!
Today, I voted NO on H.R. 7726. At a time when child care costs are crushing family budgets, House Republicans have made their priorities crystal clear: they do not care about making child care more affordable. If they did, they'd be lowering costs and expanding access—not making a broken system even worse.
ICE's newly released environmental assessment for the proposed Washington County detention facility raises important questions that deserve answers.
My team and I are tracking these developments and working in lockstep with @GovWesMoore, @OAGMaryland and my Team Maryland colleagues. We will continue to keep the community informed.

It's a crisis moment for our farmers.
Farm bankruptcies are up 46% since last year, and between tariffs, rising fertilizer costs, immigration-related labor shortages, and USDA program cuts, President Trump's policy agenda that has only made life harder for our agriculture communities and industries.
Read my new guest column in @FarmBureauMD where I discuss why this moment is so urgent for Maryland farmers.

Let’s call this what it is: when women and Black officers are disproportionately fired, passed over, or blocked from promotion, it raises serious questions about discrimination at the highest levels of military leadership.
The Pentagon should be advancing the best leaders, not carrying out Pete Hegseth’s political agenda.

I introduced legislation barring current Presidents from “branding” our country’s memorials and institutions. Our nation’s treasures belong to all of us, not just to a President bent on self-promotion, self-enrichment, and legacy branding.
Moreover, not only must Trump’s name be removed from the Kennedy Center, it is vital that this institution be allowed to continue operations and not languish because of political grudges or neglect. The Kennedy Center was created as a memorial for a fallen President and to uplift the arts – not to be fallen by a current President consumed by ego.

This Florida lawsuit only further highlights the need for Congressional action, and the dire need to prevent foreseeable harms to our kids when tech companies put profit ahead of safety. It’s why I introduced the bipartisan Algorithm Accountability Act with Rep. Mike Kennedy of Utah. Tech companies should be held liable for algorithmic curated products which impact kids’ health and well being.

These detention warehouses should be sold. They never belonged in our communities. But before ICE walks away, Congress should find out who approved paying inflated prices for them—and why taxpayers were stuck with the bill.

Pride Month is a celebration of authenticity, community, and resilience. As your representative, I proudly stand with LGBTQI+ Americans in MD-06 and across the country today and every day.
These comments are unhinged! While it is apparent that he is increasingly out of touch with reality, serves his own ego at the expense of the American people and is ever more vindictive and angry — the more pressing question is whether he continues to have the capacity and mental judgment necessary to continue to be President. I think not!
Trump just posted a full-blown essay melting down over today’s federal court ruling requiring his name to be removed from the Kennedy Center and preventing him from shutting it down. Trump blames Barack Obama and the “Radical Left” while declaring he’s no longer interested in running the institution.
A historic crash out.
When Donald Trump turned the Kennedy Center into a monument to himself, I introduced legislation to stop him.
Today, a federal judge—following @RepBeatty’s legal challenge—ruled that Trump's name was illegally added and reaffirmed that only Congress has the authority to make that change.
This ruling validates what we argued from the beginning: the Kennedy Center belongs to the American people, not to Donald Trump or any president seeking to put their personal brand on a national treasure.
This is an important victory, but the fight isn't over. Congress must act to permanently prevent presidents from using our national institutions, memorials, and landmarks as vehicles for self-promotion.

Donald Trump spent years using NDAs to keep people quiet. Now he's trying to bring the same playbook to the federal government.
Federal employees serve the American people—not any president. The 35,000 federal workers in Maryland's Sixth District should be free to report wrongdoing without fear of retaliation.

A major step toward stopping one of the most outrageous abuses of taxpayer dollars we've seen. Taxpayer money should serve the American people—not bankroll Trump's political allies and loyalists.
BREAKING: A federal judge has temporarily blocked any further action involving Trump’s $1.776 billion fund for fraudsters and insurrectionists, preserving the status quo while litigation moves forward.
🎉 Happy Birthday, April! 🎂
Today, Team Delaney is celebrating a truly kind and compassionate leader.
April leads with heart. She cares deeply about the people she serves and the team around her. Whether she's checking in, showing her appreciation, or making us laugh, she brings humanity to public service.
At a time when politics can feel cynical, April reminds us what leadership is all about: showing up, listening, and putting people first.
We're grateful for your leadership and commitment to Maryland's Sixth District. Happy Birthday, April!

The United States needs to be the leader in biotechnology.
As a member of the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee, I introduced the bipartisan SCALE Act to help establish the gold standard for biotechnology and ensure America remains the global leader in innovation, public health, and national security.
The future won’t wait. Neither should we.
When costs rise, women are often hit first and hardest.
That's why I brought together women leaders from across Montgomery County to discuss the affordability challenges facing families and the solutions needed to bring costs down and opportunities up.
Thank you to Comptroller Brooke Lierman, Delegate Lily Qi, and moderator Paula Ross for a thoughtful conversation focused on supporting working families, caregivers, and the next generation of Marylanders.
Eid al-Adha Mubarak to all who are celebrating.
May this holiday of faith, sacrifice, and generosity bring peace, happiness, and blessings to you and your loved ones. Wishing you a joyful Eid.
In Maryland, we leave no one behind.
One of my top priorities is bringing federal tax dollars home to the people I serve. That's why I fought to secure $1 million in federal funding for the Gaithersburg Pedestrian Safety Project, working alongside Senator @ChrisVanHollen to get it across the finish line.
This investment will help keep students, families, and seniors safe while strengthening our community for years to come.
This may be the most shameless example yet of an administration that views taxpayer money as a tool to reward loyalty and punish critics.
I’m demanding answers, pushing for oversight, and fighting to stop this abuse of taxpayer dollars.
Today, I was honored to join NPS Park Rangers and community members at Monocacy National Battlefield for a Memorial Day commemoration honoring the brave servicemembers who gave their lives for our freedoms. Together, we reflected on the meaning of this day and observed the National Moment of Silence in remembrance of their sacrifice.
Memorial Day is more than the start of summer — it is a solemn reminder that freedom is not free. I am deeply grateful to the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country, and to the families who continue to carry their memory forward.
