As chair of the PA Safe Caucus, I’m fighting to keep increasing funding for proven violence-intervention programs—because reduction isn’t enough; we must #EndGunViolence. Stand with me: https://t.co/Ghk6leuTMV. Join the effort.
These courts are more than just a space to play basketball. They’re an investment in community safety, physical fitness, social interaction, and the growth of our young people. I look forward to seeing the positive impact these courts have on our community for years to come.
Sturgis Rec Center now has newly renovated basketball courts! I was proud to be joined by Councilman Anthony Phillips, Stephanie Michel from Olney Community Collaborative, and the Jr. 76ers to cut the ribbon on these courts that I helped secure more than $200,000 in funding for.
I just wanted to remind you that taking care of your mental health is important. June is Black Men's Mental Health Awareness Month. Make sure you take time for yourself and don't be afraid to seek help if you need it.
The new basketball courts at Sturgis Recreation Center are now open! It was my privilege to bring over $200,000 back to our community. With the help of the Olney Community Collaborative, we have these beautiful basketball courts where kids, families, and neighbors can gather.
My office's annual senior fair is taking place on Saturday, June 13. We invite you to stop by and learn about the resources and services available to our older community members and enjoy a free lunch. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at (215) 560-1315.
I look forward to seeing you tonight at Sturgis Recreation Center as we celebrate their newly renovated basketball courts! Additionally, there will be fun activities for young people, and my office will be there to provide information on state-government resources and services.
Great news! Thanks to your voice, we were able to get SEPTA’s Route 57 to continue on loop every hour beginning this August. This is a huge win for Olney and Melrose Park Gardens as it will help get so many of our neighbors where they need to go in a timely manner.
I’m proud to have worked alongside Councilman Anthony Phillips, local community organizers, advocates, and residents to push for this improvement and make sure our community’s concerns were heard.
Join me tomorrow night for a ceremonial ribbon cutting at Sturgis Recreation Center, celebrating their newly renovated basketball courts. Also, there is still time to register children ages 6-14 for the Jr. 76ers free basketball clinic https://t.co/YGhy5WOciY
On Memorial Day, I attended ceremonies at the Philadelphia Protestant Home and VFW 2819 in Lawncrest to offer remarks expressing gratitude and appreciation to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in protecting our nation. https://t.co/nqX3OgLLq1
In observance of Memorial Day, my office will be closed at noon tomorrow, Friday, May 22 through Monday, May 25. We wish you a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend!
Next week, join me at Sturgis Recreation Center to celebrate their newly renovated basketball courts, which I helped secure funding for. There will be plenty of fun activities for kids, and my office will be able to provide you with information on state services and resources.
If you have a mail-in ballot that you have not yet mailed, do not put it in the mail. It's too late to ensure that your ballot would be received by tomorrow's 8 p.m. deadline. If you've haven't returned your mail-in ballot yet, take it to a drop box: https://t.co/HF0c1BO5cb
Last week, I joined @RepBrendanBoyle to announce joint legislation in the #PaHouse and Congress urging the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to work with states to issue operational guidance on the impending Medicaid cuts from the federal government.
