(1/2) This year's freeze devastated Florida ag, causing billions in losses across our state.
Today, I introduced the Florida Freeze Disaster Assistance Act with @RepKatCammack, @SenRickScott and @SenAshleyMoody, backed by nearly all of Florida's congressional delegation.
My legislation helps American producers recover from catastrophic losses, preserve domestic production and reduce dependence on foreign competitors.

Happy World Milk Day! Thank you to Florida’s dairy farmers who work day in and day out to provide fresh milk, support local jobs and keep one of our state’s key agriculture industries moving forward.🥛
Congratulations to the @FSC_Mocs Men’s Golf team on winning its 14th NCAA Division II National Championship! The hard work and dedication displayed by these student-athletes and coaches have once again put Florida Southern atop the nation's best. ⛳🏆
Congratulations to the graduates of the Northeast Polk Chamber of Commerce's Adult Leadership Class XVI and Youth Leadership Class of 2026!
These programs help develop the next generation of community leaders by encouraging civic engagement and service in Northeast Polk. Wishing this year's graduates all the best as they continue making a difference in their communities.
Congratulations to the @AF_Academy Class of 2026 on earning commissions in the United States Air Force and Space Force. These cadets have spent the last four years preparing to lead in some of the most advanced and demanding missions in our military. Wishing them success as they begin serving our nation around the world.
Enjoyed meeting with Jon Ostrowski, who has dedicated more than 30 years of service to our nation in the U.S. Coast Guard—on active duty, in the Reserve, and now as Legislative Affairs Director for the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers Association.
We had a productive conversation about supporting the men and women who serve in uniform, including the need to ensure Coast Guardsmen aren't left without pay during government shutdowns while they continue carrying out critical missions. National security personnel should never be caught in the middle of political gridlock.
National champions! 🏆
Congratulations to the @FSC_Mocs Women’s Lacrosse team on bringing home the 2026 NCAA Division II National Championship. A tremendous accomplishment and a well-earned title for a program that represented FL-18 exceptionally well on the national stage.
CHAMPIONS 🏆 @FSC_Mocs
Congratulations to Florida Southern, the 2026 Division II Women's Lacrosse champions! This is the second title for the Mocs in program history and the first in 10 years!

As another school year comes to a close across FL-18, I want to congratulate all of the students, teachers, staff and families who worked hard to make this year a success. Students across our communities achieved important milestones, took on new challenges and continued preparing for bright futures ahead. I hope everyone enjoys a safe, restful and well-earned summer break!
I was saddened to learn of the health battle @PamBondi has been quietly facing. Pam is incredibly strong, and anyone who knows her knows she’s facing this challenge with determination and faith. Please join me in praying for her continued strength and a full recovery.
Former AG Pam Bondi has reportedly been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.
The diagnosis came shortly after Bondi wrapped up her time as attorney general. She reportedly underwent treatment and is recovering.
Katie Miller, who is married to White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, reacted to the news: “Pam has been quietly kicking cancer’s ass the last few weeks.”
Very productive meeting with Frostproof Mayor Mike Hutto, Vice-Mayor Leslie Brewer, City Manager Nicole McDowell, councilmembers and other local officials to discuss the city’s infrastructure priorities, including efforts to upgrade the North Water Plant and improve reliable access to clean drinking water. Communities like Frostproof are the backbone of Florida’s Heartland, and I’ll keep working to support the core infrastructure families and businesses depend on.
I ended the meeting by giving them a challenge coin - and I’m told Frostproof has one coming back my way!
Congratulations to FL-18’s Noah Sisson, a 4th grader at Highlands Grove Elementary, on being named one of just six K-5 winners in the @America250FL Art & Essay Contest.
His artwork, “Palm Tree Promised Land,” reflects the creativity and patriotism of the next generation as America approaches its 250th anniversary. Noah’s work earned statewide recognition and a two-year Florida College Plan scholarship.
Well done, Noah!🇺🇸
Highlands County’s newly expanded Emergency Operations Center will play an important role in strengthening emergency response and coordination across the community.
The upgraded facility will help ensure first responders have the tools and resources they need to keep families safe during hurricanes, severe weather, wildfires and other emergencies. Thank you to the Highlands County officials, staff and community partners who helped bring this important project to fruition!
Congratulations to the @WestPoint_USMA Class of 2026 on commissioning as officers in the United States Army. West Point prepares leaders to serve under pressure, lead from the front, and put mission first. America’s soldiers will be in good hands with this next generation of Army leaders.
Today marked the culmination of 47 months of challenge, sacrifice and growth for the Class of 2026.
Now, their next chapter begins as leaders and officers in the U.S. Army.

America’s water systems are under growing cyber threat from foreign adversaries and ransomware gangs, putting public health and critical infrastructure at risk.
I chaired a @HouseScience Environment Subcommittee hearing on how environmental research & development can strengthen these critical systems against cyberattacks. From foreign adversaries to ransomware gangs, these attacks pose a serious risk to our public health and critical infrastructure, especially for small and rural utilities. Protecting our water infrastructure is a public safety priority and a national security imperative.
Great meeting with senior leadership from @One_MoreChild to discuss their work supporting vulnerable children, strengthening foster families and helping survivors of human trafficking rebuild their lives.
Human trafficking is a horrific crime that targets the most vulnerable, especially children. Organizations like One More Child are doing critical work to provide shelter, counseling and long-term support for survivors while helping protect children from exploitation. I appreciate their commitment to serving families in Florida and beyond.
Congratulations to the @NavalAcademy Class of 2026 on commissioning as officers in the United States Navy and Marine Corps. As a proud Naval Academy graduate and retired Naval Aviator, I know the commitment and discipline it takes to reach this day. Fair winds and following seas to these new officers as they begin serving our nation. Go Navy! 🇺🇸⚓️
Congratulations to the Class of 2026 @NavyStadium. Today, they sent their covers soaring, marking their transition to officers in the Navy and Marine Corps after four years of challenges, sacrifice, and triumph. Anchors aweigh! ⚓️ #classof2026@thejointstaff
Freedom isn't free.
Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice secured the liberties we enjoy today and we must never take that for granted.
Our team enjoyed attending the ribbon cutting for the Florida Children’s Museum at Bonnet Springs Park and their new exhibit featuring India, hosted by the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce.
This unique traveling educational exhibit gives families and kids a chance to learn more about India’s culture and traditions and will be on display through September.
Great meeting with Joby Aviation to discuss Florida’s selection for the Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing Integration Pilot Program and what it means for the future of aviation in our state.
Advanced air mobility has the potential to strengthen transportation, support economic growth and keep America at the forefront of aviation innovation. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Advanced Air Mobility Caucus, I’m working to help ensure these next-generation technologies are integrated safely, responsibly and in a way that keeps the U.S. leading the world in aviation.
