Giving aid to someone in need shouldn’t result in being charged with a crime like what happened to the Bloomsburg student helping another incapacitated. My legislation, alongside @RepFriel, passed unanimously out of #PaHouse Judiciary to give such protections for #GoodSamaritans.
At our @PA_HouseApprops#PABudget hearing with @PAStatePolice, I asked about efforts to diversify their ranks, regulating THC products, and fixing a telephonic verification system for Megan’s Law registrants that was created in 2018. https://t.co/oY2g9eaYwa
During our @PA_HouseApprops#PABudget hearing, I asked #PADeptAging how they’re working to address financial exploitation & support mentor programs that help combat chronic loneliness for elder residents. https://t.co/YXSE0QDJAz
At a @PA_HouseApprops budget hearing with @PADeptofEd, I asked for clarity on proposed cyber charter reforms, highlighted how the “excess spending factor” should apply to districts like Northgate, and raised concerns about flat funding for libraries. https://t.co/OPhGgbnN6o
Strong public schools start with a fair funding formula in the #PABudget. We still have a lot of work to do, especially around cyber charter school funding.
During a @PA_HouseApprops#PABudget hearing, I asked Justices Dougherty and Brobson if the court would consider expanding virtual options for these individuals, as well as how the court would react if the legislature expanded the right to counsel. https://t.co/u9HFu8Hya7
Access to justice should not be impacted by a person’s immigration status, yet federal immigration enforcement has targeted individuals, even those lawfully in the US, when they are due in court. This not only impacts defendants, but also witnesses and victims.
I also asked why the governor’s 2026-27 #PABudget proposal flat funds food insecurity programs when food insecurity continues to get worse and anti-hunger programs are being slashed at the federal level. https://t.co/Gud03EhSS4
@PADCEDnews is charged w/ investing taxpayer dollars to drive job creation, economic growth, & community development. Western Pennsylvania has a lot to offer & I asked Secretary Siger how DCED is working to deliver more funding to communities in the west. https://t.co/pwJEPD6xeu
